Do bread and crackers kill geese and ducks?

Yes they can

They can, but it is not healthy for them. A lot of places have sighs saying 'do not feed the waterfowl'. It is also not good for them to get dependent of humans for food. Breads should be avoided because its just filled with fat and does not contain any minerals or vitamins. Since breads are tastier they will eat a lot and will become overweight. Giving dry breads is dangerous as there is a chance they will swell up in throats and they will choke.

Do Mallard Ducks lay their eggs at one time?

Yes, my wood ducks (male and female) are all almost 4 years old. Only one female lays eggs at my house though. She has laid 3 batches of eggs this year. Her last batch laid and hatched were in the fall. All batches had at least 10-16 eggs each batch. This may be because I always have a pile of rolled corn out for all of the ducks to eat, and a spot that she likes to lay her eggs. Also, I raised my ducks from babies, so they might be healthier than most wild ducks. Hope this helped!

Tip - If you are raising them, make sure you feed them un-medicated food. Give the mom some rolled corn, or any other variety of duck food.

How many eggs do ducks lay per year?

Not sure what an average duck is? I guess it depends on the total ducks your are dealing with to get an average... LOL

Depends on the Duck... I have been raising ducks for egg production for almost 30 years. We now raise a hybrid for egg production called the White Golden Layer or White Layer. There is also a Golden 300 which is similar. These duck's lay approximately 250 -300 eggs per year. They will lay eggs in full production for about ten years sometimes more sometimes less.

In contrast some wild species will lay just a few per year.
