It truly depends on the BRDVD player in question. Blue-Ray and DVD use different light wavelength for their lasers, and are not directly compatible (DVD and HD-DVD are). Commercial DVD's are not burned they are pressed from a master in huge numbers. That is why you cannot duplicate a commercial DVD to a DVD-R for example. You can burn from a DVR to a DVD but you won't be sble to do it digitally if there is copy protection. For example if you record a program from cable and it is copy protected, you are only able to put on digital media (Recorder or DVD) once. The next transfer will be blocked if there is copy protection in the program. About half the programs have this protection now.

Either the player is wearing out or the DVD is badly scratched and therefore it cannot play anymore. A solution would be to either get a new DVD player if thhe player is the problem, or buy a new disc of the movie if the disc is the problem. Well, neither of them "plays" but I still get the question. The data is actually on a thin metal like surface in the center. A laser beam detects nothing more than pits. Like 100111000111001000 CPU language. Either there is a pit or not. This happens when the light from the laser beam is bounced off the "bottom" of the disc.

If you laptop has a CD drive put the CD in to it and then you would select the photos that you want right click and then click burn to disc. If your laptop doesnt have a CD drive then I suggest that you put it on a flash drive and try it on a computer or laptop that does have a CD drive
