Why do poor people smell like cheese?
Because the science of stars concentrates on poor people because they're cooler and they eat more. And plus because i like to give poor people cheese.
Where does the Australian law come from?
It originated from Britain then it goes through the Australian Parliament and then Case Judge Law (at least this is what my legal studies teacher told me).
Which one of these eating disorders is more likly to affect men than women?
While an eating disorder can affect either gender equally, more women tend to suffer from anorexia and bulimia while more men tend to suffer from muscle dysmorphia, protein abuse, and anorexia athletica.
How do you get your girlfriend to lose weight and not break up?
You have to decide for yourself if her weight is a problem for you in the relationship. Basically, this is one of those things that people have to learn: the other person has a right to live their life as they will; you cannot make people lose weight or any other thing that would be good for them by making it part of the deal of staying together, but you might inspire them... Amazingly, as we grow older, some of these things (weight, health issues) take a backseat to the caring, love, sex, and companionship within the relationship. The difference is, by then, we recognize their value.
ANSWER 2 - From a guy's point of view, who has been exactly where you have been:
As the previous answerer rightly said, when you grow older physical attraction takes a backseat and love is based on other things, however when you are both young looks do matter, at least for a large number of guys. Why sacrifice on the opportunity of being with a pretty girl at least during the prime of your life. Looks are anyway going to deteriorate, and character is what will remain; but there is nothing wrong in wanting BOTH good looks and good character in a girlfriend/boyfriend.
I am 31 years old and my girlfriend of 2 years had the same 'problem'. I am no longer with her, and have been an absolute jerk to her, for which I will always be sorry since she is one of the nicest people I have known. So based on my experience this is the 'right' way to get her to lose the extra pounds.
Get a joint membership for both of you at the local 24 hour fitness place ($55 - $75 for 1 month). Make sure you go regularly for workouts (5 times a week if possible) even if she doesn't initially. Never directly suggest that she is overweight, this is rude and is an absolute NO NO; but say things about YOURSELF like 'I don't like my spare tire, and have to work out'. Girls will never lose weight if you ever DIRECTLY suggest that they are overweight; not only that, if you confront them later on about this, they will say that they WOULD have lost the weight if you had not forever scarred them by saying the rude things you did (this is an easy out later on, don't give it to her.)
When you go out to eat, get yourself the healthiest meal possible (like a salad), this will make her think twice about ordering the cheesy dish she would have otherwise got. Avoid soda and junk food, and tell her about how you've given these things up completely (of course be true to yourself, and really give these up yourself, not indulge in them behind her back). If she suggests dessert, tell her to go ahead and get what she wants, but you won't partake because you are watching your waistline; there is nothing wrong in saying this if you are really following through with it.
If all this still fails, then once you are in good shape yourself, you can confront her about this in a nice way, ask her why she continues to indulge in binge eating and not working out. She will NOT have that 'easy out' of saying you were the one who pushed her to it by being mean to her etc etc., if you had played your cards right and not been a jerk by directly telling her she is fat. Then if she is not able to justify herself, you can say that it is time for you to move on to someone who appreciates you more.
Trust me guys, I have told my girlfriend that I would like her to lose weight, because I was naiive and impatient, and too frank for my own good. Tact is important always. Even if you do decide to break up with her, a better alternative will be to not make her feel that you broke up with her because she is fat; here is where tact is needed; you can just probably say that you don't have the same feelings for her as you used to etc... (the it's not you it's me routine, but more polished). She will hate YOU but not HERSELF; this is the least you can do for her if you are dumping her. I did the opposite and regret it more than anything; because now she will have self confidence issues for the rest of her life, and this was not my intention at all.
Remember that it is OK for looks to matter in a relationship, and if one person is unwilling to switch to healthy habits just because of their own selfishness or desire to be lazy, the other person is not inclined to stay in the relationship; after all anyone can lose weight, it is just about trying, it is not like going bald or being short, which you have more or less no control over. Or if one of you get into an accident which disfigures you permanently; this is not something you had the power to change, so it would be a jerk move to dump someone for this.
NOTE to guys: If in the RARE case that your girlfriend really cannot lose weight because of some hormonal imbalance (this is quite rare but possible), then it is up to you to decide if you want to be a jerk for a day and dump her for that, or endure a lifelong relationship where your heart is not completely in it, and the relationship is based on guilt and sympathy, not on true love and attraction. Or you can bite the bullet, and make the ultimate sacrifice and stick by her and tell her you think she is still beautiful; a very noble act, which few people are capable of.
NOTE to girls: Even if your man says he doesn't care what you look like, don't be absolutely sure of this, after all men are attracted to physical beauty, and this is natural. Stop wallowing in self-pity, and taking the easy way out. You have to work for your man; just as you expect him to work for you and be there for you. What is wrong in adopting a healthier lifestyle and looking great not just for him but for yourself in the bargain? If you let yourself go, be sure that your guy will be checking out other hot girls around him, and wondering what he did to end up with you, even though you may be the sweetest person. Don't fool yourself thinking that all the hot girls are 'anyway b*tch*s', because trust me, I know a lot who are not, and who are actually genuine and pleasant to be around; so it is not 'either this' or 'that' for your guy; it is practically a candy store out there for a guy who is in shape and who is reasonably smart and good natured; he will pick up a pretty girl within weeks of dumping you, and this time he will be wise to choose a girl who actually cares about working out for herself and not for him, (most likely at the gym).
How can you tell if you are anorexic?
Before you consider yourself anorexic please get your thyroid checked out by your doctor.
Anorexics see themselves as always over-weight. They will have an aversion to food to the point where eating becomes a great problem and they simply grow thinner until they pass away.
If you have any of these symptoms please see your doctor and work together with him/her on this.
Anorexia is usually caused in people because eating is the only thing they can control in their lives. It is more common than you think.
If you are eating well and are still thin, take a look at the gene pool in your family. Not all people are the correct weight or on the stout side.
Anorexics eat but they eat such small portions its not even funny
If you have a negative self-image, always doubting yourself, that's psychological. If you are eating minimal calories a day for a substantial period of time. Another psychological aspect, and this is just from personal experience, is that your brain could start to hate food, think of it as a poison instead of a necessity.
There are other factors I am sure, that I have left out.
One thing though, if you have to question yourself something must be wrong somewhere, so either talk to someone, or keep yourself in check and keep yourself healthy.
If you start watching your weight more than normal and thinking that you look fat.
Also throwing up could be a very obvious sign. You should see a doctor if you are underweight because that is another sign.
If you do not want to eat or are afraid to eat because you fear you may gain weight. If you eat very little yet count calories when you do. If you go out of your way to avoid eating. If you excercise excessively although you do not have the energy for it because of lack of nutrients.
Those are just some of the warning signs of anorexia. Anorexia is more so a disease of the mind than the body. It puts avoiding food at the forefront of your daily activities. It becomes an obsession the sufferers can only overcome through counseling and/or hospitalization in severe cases.
Bulimia is very similar to anorexia however it is characteristic of "binging and purging". This means that the person will go long hours/days with no food and suddenly eat an enormous amount of food at once which is called binging. And then they will force themselves to throw up the food they have just eaten which is called purging. Not all bulimics binge and purge, however, some eat fairly regular meals but force themselves to throw up immediately after.
Contrary to common belief, anorexics and bulimics are not all stick-thin. A lot of those suffering from either disease are of average/above average build. Anorexia and bulimia are both very dangerous. Both can kill if not treated soon enough. Both also cause long term health problems. If you believe you are anorexic or bulimic it is best advised that you get help for this ASAP. This will not be easy but if you do not do so, the concequences could be dire.

What are the ethical issues of anorexia?
Anorexia brings up many ethical issues tied into the physical problems or issues that may arise, too.
1. A main one is that anorexia is very much a conscious "disease" or "disorder". Unlike bacterial or viral disease, or conditions such as cancer, or mental disorders like bipolar disorder, anorexia is very much so controlled by the individual. They make concious decisions about how to eat, what to do, how to exercise, and so on. The only difference is that they often cannot tell them selves to make the effort or decisions to stop.
2. This brings up the problem, though, of how do you treat someone who is chosing to inflict themselves with these problems. Doing so by force would be unethical and inhumane, yet it cannot often be done by choice.
3. There is also the ethical issue of when to treat and when not to treat. What really defines someone as "bad" or "severe"? When should treatment take place? What kind of treatment should happen? (though there are medical objective criteria as to when someone is malnourished and should be hospitalized e.g. low temperature, low HR, low BP, very very low weight, electrolyte abnormalities)
There are so many different grades of the disorder that there is no one real method of treatment or care, and this can bring up problems of who is deciding on treatment plans, if they have the best interest of the patient in mind, and what qualifies them to suggest or enact these specific methods of treatment over other methods.
Why do more women than men have eating disorders?
because lots of women are so conscious about their weight and starve themselves because they want to be accepted by men and by other people. which normally leads to anorexia.
I don't know if that's a phobia but the phobia of having a phobia is Phobophobia.
What percentage of men and women have eating disorders?
Up to 10 million females and 1 million males struggle with eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. The Binge eating disorder is experienced by millions more.
Up to 80 percent of women show signs of an eating disorder at some point.
Up to 24 million people in the United States experience some form of an eating disorder.
What happens to the body during starvation?
First of all the glycogen stores of the body are slowly depleted (glycogen is a highly branched form of glucose and it is found mainly in the liver and the muscles). As the glycogen stores are used the body begins to break down fats (found in adipose tissue). The fats are converted to something called ketone bodies; these ketone bodies are used as energy for most tissues. This helps to conserve glucose for the liver and the brain. When the glycogen stores run out the body begins breaking down protein from the muscles of the body, it converts the carbon skeleton of each amino acid into glucose (which provides energy for the brain and liver only). This breaking down of muscle protein is what makes someone who is starving look emaciated. Of course if re-feeding does not occur then starvation ultimately results in death when there is no more sources of energy that the body can utilise.
Re-feeding is a complicated process; the patient must be fed little and often and given a diet high in fat and low in carbohydrates. As the days go on the meal frequency can be reduced and the amount at each meal can be slowly increased. Re-feeding syndrome is potentially fatal and so must be monitored. (Re-feeding syndrome is caused when the patient is given plentiful carbohydrates. It occurs when insulin causes cells to take up potassium and phosphates, this in turn causes swelling of the cells and therefore cell death)
How do you make my little sister feel better?
It depends if she is sad or angry. If she is sad (crying), try to do something silly to make her feel better. You can also give her something so she'll pay attention to the item, instead of her feelings. 9 year olds are interested in a lot of things. Depends on their maturity level and or their hobbies. Just give her something you'd know she'd like. If you did something to offend her, try apoligizing. You could also talk to her about any problems she wants to talk about.
Good luck!
Java fern, Microsorium pteropus, is known for its ability to tolerate low light levels and for not being eaten by many fish. While it is not supposed to taste good, no one told my goldfish who ate the plant I put in with them years ago. Most other fish leave it alone. Java fern is a fern that will produce spores and often baby plants right on the leaf. This plant does okay in my tanks with moderate light, soft water, and temperatures in the low 70's. It is very slow growing. Leaves can grow pretty large but then tend to rot and die, often with "babies" growing on them at that point. The small ramshorn snails in my tanks seem to enjoy "chewing" on it but the plant seems only minorly affected. thankyou for asking. :)
Is Serotonin related to the modulation of mood and impulse control?
Yes, serotonin is known to play a role in regulating mood and impulse control. It is commonly referred to as the "happiness hormone" and is involved in managing feelings of well-being and happiness. Imbalances in serotonin levels have been linked to conditions such as depression and anxiety.
this can be considered an eating disorder not otherwise specified. You have anorexic and bulimic tendencies in this case. The only weight you will lose is water weight. there are many side effects to a situation like this including tooth decay, ruptured esophoagus, hair loss and many others. if you or someone you know has these tendencies seek help before its too late.
If you weigh 168 and youre 5'4 how much can you lose weight if you dont eat for a week?
The answer depends on a number of factors such as how active you are, you metabolism. etc. Since you are 168 at 5'4" lets assume you are relatively inactive.
To calculate the weight lossover a week, multiply your body weight by 15 (20 if you are quite active) 168 x 15 = 2520. This is the amount of calories you need per day to maintain your weight. Multiply this by 7 days or 2520 * 7 = 17640 calories. Divide this number by 3500( the number of calories in a pound . 17640/3500= 5.04. Therefore you should lose about 5 pounds in a week. You will lose more than if you weigh yourself but the additional loss will be mostly water, and will be gained right back.
The idea of not eating for a week is dangerous and I don't recommend it! If you really want to try fasting check out this site www.fasting.com
one of them was born in Australia and grew up in NZ and the other 2 were born and grew up there! they are now based in Australia and have been for around 6 years!

If you vomit could you vomit and not stop?
If someone vomit could they keep vomiting and not stop...And die from it
There are no cases reported of people dying directly from vomitting.
However, if you vomit often and keep vomitting for longer periods (a day for example) you should drink water in between to stop you from dehydrating.
Also, if you inhale the stuff that comes from your stomach it is very bad for your lungs and I assume you could die from that in several ways.
If you are vomiting for extensive periods of time please consult a doctor.
For more information search on Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome.
In some individuals this is true. If you look at starving children in Africa you will notice their little tummies are quite bloated. When the stomach doesn't get food it begins to bloat with gas. If a person has been starving for quite sometime it will also take awhile for them to introduce food back into their system and maintain a healthy level.
Anorexic individuals are the way they are because that is the only thing in their lives they can control. This condition often happens in models, professional ballerinas, and until the 70s Hollywood studios would dish out diet pills to their actors (especially women) like they were candy out of pez dispenser. Even to this day many actors are coming out of the closet and admitting they are Anorexic or Bulimic. For some women they see a fat person when they look at themselves in the mirror (their family or friends may think they look great as they are or may even think they look too thin and gaunt) and other women don't have much control over their lives so not eating is the only control they have.
Movies, magazines, television all strive to prey on the young to look thin, graceful, and thus, you will be promised that you'll become one of "the beautiful people." Companies that put out diet products WANT young women (the most gullible when it comes to weight loss) to buy their products so they really go to town making them believe they can look like some rock star or famous actress. Your body is your body, and by the way, those so-called "beautiful people" one sees in movies, magazines, etc., have had so much plastic surgery or Botox they'll be blinking out of the back of their heads in another 10 years. This doesn't even include the "body spray make-up" to give them that flawless look. There is lypo-suction to get rid of fat, of course plastic surgery which is becoming an epidemic with youth today (even in Canada.) Some kids as young as 12 are getting permission from their parents for plastic surgery. I know one young girl who graduated and her parents gave her a so-called great grad present .... plastic surgery for bigger breasts!
Some young women suffering from Anorexia do so because they have psychological problems. They could have had a trauma in their lives or in their young lives never had much control over themselves, so starving themselves is the only control they have. If young people think it's fun to be Anorexic it isn't and these poor young women spend many hours in private crying because inwardly they know they are in big trouble. They may think they still look fat, but somewhere in their minds they know they are starving themselves.
People with Anorexia or Bulimic need psychological help. If they don't get this help they could well die. The human stomach, in time will go into a "starvation mode" and that basically means the body will start feeding off of itself. If Bulimic (purging food after eating) the stomach being a muscle will get the message from the brain to continue to purge and the person will then have lost total control of what the stomach is doing, not to mention the devastation it does on the organs of the body. Young people that are always worried about their weight and are on constant diets, Anorexic or Bulimic (there are lots out there) will think they are getting away with it and promise themselves they will stop later down the road, end up with malfunctioning body organs or possibly strokes or heart attacks.
