Are over-the-counter pregnancy tests reliable?
Over the counter pregnancy test are directly proportional to the pregnancy time of the person. If the pregnancy is in the early stages it is highly probable that the test will show a false negative, because the levels of hCG in the urine are still too low to be detected. In these cases is recommended two things: 1. Waiting for a couple of days to re-test, or 2. Go to your Physician so that blood test can be order for testing pregnancy.
chances of pregnancy may still be high, but chances of another eptopic pregnancy may be higher. eptopic pregancies are mostly cause to tubal blockage etc. If you still have some type of tubal/introuteral issue you may end up pregnant in the same situation. this is something i would speak with your doctor about. Its best if you want to conceive to make sure you have no female issues that will create a problem like eptopic pregnancy. im sure you and your doctor can check it out and you can be pregnant and have a healthy baby in no time. best wishes! :)
How early can an ultrasound show an ectopic pregnancy?
Most definitely when you consider the size that the foetus would be at that stage of development, in fact I would think that you would have had some serious complications before it got to that stage in the pregnancy. I was 10 weeks and they said I was lucky the tube had not ruptured already.
If you suspect from the symptoms you are experiencing that you are suffering an ectopic pregnancy I would contact your dr immediately.
When You are pregnant, your body produces a hormone called hGC. The pregnancy test detects the hormone1. Look into it before you let them think you're having a miscarriage. I'm pretty sure you can have a miscarriage without blood, but that also means you will need a surgery called D&C to remove remnants of the pregnancy that can cause complications, namely infection.

Is ectopic pregnancy a pregnancy in the correct position?
An ectopic pregnancy, or eccysis, is a complication of pregnancy in which the embryo implants outside the uterine cavity. With rare exceptions, ectopic pregnancies are not viable. Furthermore, they are dangerous for the mother, since internal haemorrhage is a life-threatening complication. Most ectopic pregnancies occur in the Fallopian tube (so-called tubal pregnancies), but implantation can also occur in the cervix, ovaries, andabdomen. An ectopic pregnancy is a potential medical emergency, and, if not treated properly, can lead to death.
In a normal pregnancy, the fertilized egg enters the uterus and settles into the uterine lining where it has plenty of room to divide and grow. About 1% of pregnancies are in an ectopic location with implantation not occurring inside of the womb, and of these 98% occur in the Fallopian tubes.
Detection of ectopic pregnancy in early gestation has been achieved mainly due to enhanced diagnostic capability. Despite all these notable successes in diagnostics and detection techniques ectopic pregnancy remains a source of serious maternal morbidity and mortality worldwide, especially in countries with poor prenatal care.
In a typical ectopic pregnancy, the embryo adheres to the lining of the fallopian tube and burrows into the tubal lining. Most commonly this invades vessels and will cause bleeding. This intratubal bleeding hematosalpinx expels the implantation out of the tubal end as a tubal abortion. Tubal abortion is a common type of miscarriage. There is no inflammation of the tube in ectopic pregnancy. The pain is caused by prostaglandins released at the implantation site, and by free blood in the peritoneal cavity, which is a local irritant. Sometimes the bleeding might be heavy enough to threaten the health or life of the woman. Usually this degree of bleeding is due to delay in diagnosis, but sometimes, especially if the implantation is in the proximal tube (just before it enters the uterus), it may invade into the nearby Sampson artery, causing heavy bleeding earlier than usual.
If left untreated, about half of ectopic pregnancies will resolve without treatment. These are the tubal abortions. The advent of methotrexate treatment for ectopic pregnancy has reduced the need for surgery; however, surgical intervention is still required in cases where the Fallopian tube has ruptured or is in danger of doing so. This intervention may be laparoscopic or through a larger incision, known as a laparotomy.
No. Because your ovaries are not connected to your uterus anymore.
after ectopic pregnancy, and removed my tube should my stomach be slighty sweld on that side.
What if your last pregnancy was ectopic so how soon should you see the midwife?
If your last pregnancy was ectopic then you should have constant check ups if you are currently pregnant. There are risks associated with women who have had ectopic pregnancies. A doctor will evaluate your situation.
Can you have an ectopic pregnancy if you smoke the first two weeks of pregnancy?
In ectopic pregnancy, there are three mechanisms that occur: delayed ovulation, altered tubal and uterine motility, or altered immunity. Even though there is no study that supports a specific mechanism by which smoking causes ectopic pregnancy, there are many studies that support that smoking indeed plays a factor in having ectopic pregnancies. According to various research and studies, women who smoke are more likely than nonsmokers to have ectopic pregnancies. Apparently, smoking is associated with up to five times greater risk because of the nicotine in cigarettes. Nicotine causes contractions in the fallopian tubes resulting in muscle spasms which can alter the pathway of the embryo. Smoking even as close as the time of ovulation, can already alter the fallopian tubes and temporarily block any embryo that passes through. Therefore, I highly suggest cessation of smoking before ovulation, which is definitely even before the first two weeks of pregnancy.
Can you terminate an ectopic pregnancy by drinking liquor?
No! That is extremely dangerous. The pregnancy will have to be removed anyhow; it is best to consult your OB/GYN about the appropriate care of your ectopic pregnancy.
if one test is coming out positive, then you should go and see your doctor. The first one may have come out negative if you took it too soon. if you've never breast fed before, then really there should be no leakage so early on, but do go to your doctor any way. I have never heard of this... but who knows.. I would wait a week and test again. Then if you don't get a true positive test go to the doctors for a quantitative blood test.. It can measure the amount of HGC in your blood. Some people do not ever get positive tests... though rare it does happan. Thirdly if all does not pan out toward pregnancy, I would look into why your breast have leakage.... not to scare you, but some forms of cancer will cause your breasts to secrete fluid. In anycase, hope it turns out for you :) what ever you desire. Positive pregnancy tests mean your pregnant. See your doctor for confirmation. You can not leak colostrum till you are 4-6 months into your pregnancy. Leaking breasts prior to this is due to milk duct infection or too much progesterone in your blood. Good luck. wow i think the best thing to do is 2 go see a doc cuz u neva kno u might be pregnant and its best to find out as soon a possible u can go planned parent hood
What are the sine of pregnancy?
Missed cycles, nausea for a few days in a row (not necessarily the same time every day), tender and sometimes swollen breasts, fatigue/tiredness, frequent urination, headaches and backaches are early signs of pregnancy.
When do ectopic pregnancies rupture?
Ectopics can rupture anytime between 4 - 12 weeks, most commonly between weeks 7 - 10.
If the ectopic is diagnosed early it can be treated without surgery and without the risk of death.
It is essential if you have any symptoms of an ectopic you seek medical advice in the first instance.
How can you lower your chances of an ectopic pregnancy?
Unfortunately there is not a lot known at the time about how to prevent or even reduce your chance of having an ectopic pregnancy.
I am 7 weeks pregnant my doctor thinks it could be an ectopic pregnancy would I be in pain?
Not necessarily. I had an ectopic pregnancy that was not discovered until my 1st ultrasound at 10 weeks. I had no pain or bleeding at all.
Is it possible to have an ectopic pregnancy right after your menstruation?
Yes. Ovulation can occur irregularly, at times, and implantation of the fertilized ovum in the fallopian tube does not always trigger cessation of menses immediately.
Yes it most definitely could be ectopic. You need to get a pelvic ultrasound done. The radiologist will see changes in the lining of your uterus if it is possibly a normal pregnancy. If it is ectopic, there will be no changes to your uterus (prepping for the baby, etc.) They also may be able to see the ectopic pregnancy through an ultrasound. Do not wait to find out about this. It could be life threatening to you.
It may be that your body is in a state of almost.... shock
And losing the baby (if you did in fact lose it, which I am assuming that you did) caused your body to... I don't really know how to put it...
But that your mind is in a state where it still thinks that the milk is needed...
I'm sorry I can't really explain it very well
See a doctor if you think that there is something seriuosly wrong
Hope it helps
:)
Is pain in your left backside where my kidneys are located a symptom of pregnancy?
Lower back pain is a sign of pregnancy but pain in your kidney area is normally attributed to a kidney or bladder infection. You should go to your doctor to find out if you are pregnant or if there is another problem. Good luck!
As soon as you test positive, it is a good idea to get an appointment as soon as possible especially with your history. Sorry to be harsh but there is no point in paying for a doctor's appointment until you have missed your period. It is thought that upto 50% of pregnancies "miscarry" at the first period, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. Up to about 5 years ago you wouldn'teven have known you were pregnant until you missed you period.
The answer depends on what exactly you are asking. If your asking if a pregnancy test will show you specifically whether or not a pregnancy is in the tues or not then NO it will not. A home pregnancy test only shows that HCG has been detected in your urine. Which usually means you're pregnant. Establishing the location of the pregnancy can only be done through ultrasound with the aid of a doctor. If your concerned about ectopic please speak with your doctor. Also watch for signs of fever, spotting, and abdominal/ovary pain. Good Luck.
