The fifteenth century noble lord Dracul who was a member of the Order of Dragons who fought against Ottoman Turks lived in a castle in Transylvania. In 1431, his son, Count Vlad, the central character in Bram Stoker's novel, was born there as the son of Dracul. Dracula in Romanian means, the son of Dracul. Of course, a noble lord named Dracul and his son named Vlad having ever lived in Transylvania has been questioned later.

A Redcap, is a type of malevolent murderous dwarf, elf, goblin or fairy found in Border Folklore. They are said to inhabit ruined castles found along the border between England and Scotland. Redcaps are said to murder travelers who stray into their homes and dye their hats with their victims' blood (from which they get their name). Redcaps must kill regularly, for if the blood staining their hats dries out, they die. Redcaps are very fast in spite of the heavy iron pikes they wield and the iron-shod boots they wear. Outrunning a redcap is supposedly impossible.

Tristram and Iseult, better known as Tristan and Isolde is said to have before even Lancelot and Guinevere. There are lots of different variations to the story, but it is more or less along the lines of this:

Tristan lives with his uncle, King Mark. He is sent to bring Isolde, an Irish princess to his uncle as a wife. On the way back to Cornwall, Tristan and Isolde drank a love potion accidentally (and in some yet, Isolde gave it to Tristan on purpose) and they fell in love. Isolde marries the king, but has an affair with Tristan behind Mark's back. Mark finds out eventually and sentences Tristan to death and Isolde, banishment. Tristan escapes to Brittany and marries Iseult of the White Hands, due to her name and beauty (according to the Once and Future King by T.H. White, Tristan sleeps with her accidentally, thinking she is Iseult, his lover.)

There is a 2006 movie called "Tristan + Isolde", whose plot is somewhat different. In the film, Tristan and Isolde fall in love of their own account when Tristan washes up on Irish shore and Isolde nurses him back to health. Soon, Tristan goes back to England to his guardian, Mark. Meanwhile, The Irish king sets up a tournament for the hand of his daughter, the princess. Mark sends Tristan to play in the tournament on behalf of Mark. Tristan wins and then finds out the princess he had won for his uncle was Isolde. Mark marries Isolde, unaware of her and Tristan's history. Tristan becomes depressed and moody watching Mark being affectionate with Isolde and knowing that she is not his. Then, he and Isolde start to have an affair.

Tristram's stepmother tried to seduce him, but he rejected her advances. She became angry and accused Tristram of raping her, leading to a conflict between him and his father.

It's called the forbidden experiment, because to perform this experiment you would have to purposefully cause harm to the subject. To make a "feral child" the researcher would remove the child from parents, leave it in isolation, not care for it and mentally retard the child by making sure the it misses all the critical learning periods for language development. Not to mention the survival rates would be low.

Imagine a researcher wanting to cut chucks out of a child brain to see what happens?

The king in the story actually had two problems to solve - his sickness at the beginning of the story and the conflicting claims of two princesses who wanted to marry his youngest son Don Juan at the end of the story.

In the Filipino epic, Ibong Adarna, the king loved his youngest son Don Juan so much that that when one night, he dreamed that two traitors conspired against Don Juan, the king became so frightened and depressed that he did not even want to eat or take a rest, and fell sick with a malady, of which none of the physicians of the kingdom were able to cure. The king was advised that the Adarna bird was the only creature in the world which could restore to him his lost health and tranquility by using its song.

Acting on this advice, he sent out his oldest son Don Pedro to look for this coveted animal. Unfortunately Don Pedro fell asleep beneath the tree where the Adarna was accustomed to pass the night and the bird defecated on him, turning him to stone. The second son, Don Diego, met the same fate. The youngest son Don Juan succeeded where his brothers failed and not only captured the bird, but rescued his brothers, turning them back from stone to living humans.

Even though he had rescued them, his brothers were jealous and conspired to beat him, leaving him unconscious in the middle of the road, and take the bird back themselves. Don Juan has several more adventures climaxing in him returning to the king with the princess Doña Maria in tow whose hand he had won through his great deeds. Waiting from Don Juan at the palace was another princess, Doña Leonora, who also wanted to marry Don Juan. The king consulted with the archbishop of the kingdom on the case and the church dignitary decided in favor of Doña Leonora. Doña Maria was not willing to give up Don Juan so easily however and used magic to bring on a great flood that threatened the whole kingdom, so the king convinced Princess Doña Leonora to be content with marrying Don Pedro, the brother of Don Juan, which she did for the good of all and Don Juan married Doña Maria.

Robin Hood is still remembered today because he is a legendary figure known for robbing from the rich to give to the poor, which has resonated with people for centuries. Additionally, the themes of social justice and fighting against oppression that Robin Hood embodies continue to be relevant today.
