You don't have to have Facebook completely stop sending you email notifications. It gives you the option to pick which things you want to be notified about. To change this setting, log in, and hover over the "settings" thing on the top. Click on "account settings" on the box that appears underneath, and on the next page, click on the "notifications" tab on the top,

go to the contacts app

click the contact that u want to delete

press edit

then at the very bottom press delete contact

If your parent's still don't let you have it then they might not think that it is a good social network. :)
