Most algeas are spawned by over lighting a tank and high levels of Phosphate. Remove phosphates, cut back on lighting and feeding and do a water change. There are inhabitants one can add to help reduce the growth. Saltwater tank, get a tang, rabbitfish, lawnmower blenny or more snails. Freshwater get pleco, otocinculus or more snails.

Juvenile Oscars often play rough with each other by locking jaws and may even attack the sides of a fish, usually inflicting little damage.
