It depends on what type of bait style you are using. The plastic type, commonly found in the shape of baitfish or claims, can be rehydrated by adding water to the packaging it originally came in. If the package is not watertight, put the bait into a small ziplock bag.

What fishing rod do you need for lake fishing?
It depends on what fish live in the lake. For trout, a lightweight outfit capable of handling 4 to 8 pound test line is good. For more aggressive fish, like bass, heavier gear is needed. Panfish - bluegill and the various croppie - can be taken successfully on heavier trout gear.

there are many other ways to set up ur line then that but that is the easiest and i think it is the best to get a fish hooked good. there is also the one that u first put a small bobber then 3" of line and tie a swivl after that u take 6" inches of line and put a hook in the midle of that line and tie a swivl to it and last u tie 3" of line to that with 3 # 5 sinkers to that. if it doesnt sink then u need more weight or a smaller sinker. this setup is to keep ur bait 6" off the bottom and mainly for a live bait like shad worms or other midium sized bait. doesnt work well in fast curant unless u use larger sinkers.
