How much does a bathroom attendant gets paid?

I have worked as a "Restroom Attendant" for almost a year in San Diego, CA. Attendant earnings vary by State, and by establishments that provide their services.

This answer is specific to San Diego Attendants, and in order to provide an accurate answer, the following should be known:

1. "Restroom Attendants", are "Independent Contractors" and offer their services "free of charge", working for "tips' alone, and release the business of all payroll and insurance obligations.

2.Very few Attendants are also owners of the contracts for which they work. Most work under a subcontractor who has already established the contracts. Placed by the subcontractor, the Attendants are distributed amongst the various contracts and are required to fulfill the contract agreements.

How much does a bathroom attendant get paid?

Those of us who work and own the contracted account, which include myself and one other that I know of, can average $200.-$500. in tips a night. I am required to provide services seven nights a week. The other works Thursday-Saturday only. Keep in mind that we don't always make the average, and that three months of the year the average drops dramatically to $20.-$100. a night. It should also be known that we supply all product, and that being that our contracts involve a higher end client, our products must reflect that as well. Some days all the nights profits are spent the next day to resupply the inventory.

Those who work under a subcontractor can average $200.-$500. a night. They will usually work only Friday and Saturday nights, rent their product from the subcontractor, paying a "lease fee" as well, which can be "set" or "changing" depending on the contract and at the subcontractors digression. I have known this fee to be 50%-75% of the attendants tips.
