If you are losing water in your tank, it is probably because of evaporation. No matter if you have a fish bowl or a fish tank, if it's in direct sunlight, the water's gonna evaporate. Another way you could be losing water is something called "fish intake". Most fish absorb water through their skin, and they replace it with their... bodily fluids. And most of what the fluids are is carbon dioxide and other things that take the place of water. Now there's more air in there and less water. Hope you find this useful!
P.S.-- If you find that the water is lower because of fish intake, add a bit of water IMMEDIATELY!!! The lack of water means lack of oxygen. Your fish could suffocate!
P.P.S-- On that cheerful note, good-bye!

When a body of water is polluted with mercury, the mercury will begin building up in every part of the water, including plants, plankton, and fish. Each part of the food chain increases the amount of mercury. Therefore, larger fish will have more mercury inside them.
On Petsmart and Petco they say 10 gallons or larger, but I have mine in a 5 gallon tank with 2 guppies and some plants ( 1 live 2 fake) and they are doing great. Just do weekly water changes and they will be fine. I also have a filter and a heater.
The "blue" Dwarf Gourami (Colisa lalia) is sexed the same way as all Dwarf gouramis. The male is brightly coloured and the female is much plainer.
Guppies are better at 70F than 78F. but pH and Temperature are not the only things that matter. You need to follow the basic rules to keep your water habitable. The basic rules for keeping fish successfully are. :- 1 inch of fish must have at least 1 gallon of water. Every tank must have a permanently running 'cycled' filter. :- Every tank need at least 50% of its water relpaced every week. If you fail to observe and comply with any of the above rules I can guarantee that your fish will be constantly getting sick and they will live vastly shortened lifespans.
Molly fish do not lay eggs. They are livebearers and give birth to fry fish. If there are eggs in an aquarium with Molly fish, then they belong to another fish.
It means the Fish could be blind in that eye or it could just be the way it was born

Can you have three pictus catfish in a five gallon fish tank
Parrot fish are a man made crossbreed. Not much is known about their breed specific ailments yet. Black Spot Disease, Ready to mate, water quality issue, changing color naturally as it matures, The black on your fish could be any one of these. Most of the time one or another of these will produce the markings and will not have an impact on the fishes behavior. You can attempt to medicate the tank if you want, if it is a disease parasite then Maracide would probably work best. It could also clear up on it's own. I would do a water change and test water quality first.
As long as the frog is able to reach the surface to breathe as needed with out having a way to escape it should be fine. A tall plant or other decoration placed in the back corner for perching would be beneficial.
Probably the easiest way to sex these fishes is by the shape of their foreheads. Males have a flatter, more leveled slope to their foreheads and are slightly wider. Females have a more rounded forehead and are slightly plumper when in spawning condition. acoording to an individual who responded on answers.yahoo.com
Activated Charcoal can be used in a filter to purify the water (It will filter fine stuff like most medications out too). It does however appear to have a major drawback in that once it is saturated and can hold no more, it has been know to release its toxic load and contaminate the tank. Care must be taken when using it and it MUST be replaced very regularly to avoid the posibility of the problem described occuring.
It is very hard to tell you exactly how much gravel you should use. For successfull water plant growing, more is always better than less. I always slope the gravel from as deep as 3 inches at the back of the tank, down to a bit over 1 inch at the front. This uses gravity, and results in much of the detrius, mulm and poo ending up at the front of the tank for easy removal by syphoning (cleaning)
