If one has the date of death, and of course the name of the person, the battle is half-won. Go to a Library and consult the newspaper ( on Microfilm) if you know somebody died in Jersey City on l0.3l.75 and know their name, the job is easy. Why not. visitng hours at funeral homes are usually posted- in Jersey City, normally 2-5 and 7-9 ( one imagines corpses need a two-hour lunch!) in the PM hours. these sad events are open to all interested mourners, no special passes needed.

I would probably just send a Condolence card, and visit the grave privately at a later date, unless you have a mutual friend who KNOWS if you would be welcome at the funeral.

Hello. Bascially a funeral director prepares the body for burial. This can include embalming or cremation. They dress the body, prepare make-up and hair so the body will appropriate for viewing if desired by the family.

Well, it depends on the culture.

America generally wears black, because it is a somber color.

In India, they wear white to funerals, because white represents mourning in their culture.

I personally like black with a bit of white somewhere.
