Why didn't George Harrison feel bad about John Lennon's death?
Harrison was personally upset that Lennon was murdered, telling the media "To rob someone of life is the ultimate crime", but as a Hindu believer, he felt that Lennon would simply take life again elsewhere.
Interviewed for a Hare Krishna (Bhaktivedanta Book Trust) publication in 1982, Harrison was asked "Did any of the other Beatles believe in reincarnation?" His answer was "I'm sure John does!"

George was a very heavy smoker of up to 3 packs per day it has been said. Some sources say he quit smoking in the 80's and some say it was as late as 1997 or he started again. Another thing that has to be taken into consideration for all of the Beatles is the prolonged exposure to massive amounts of second hand smoke in bars and enclosed arenas, etc. which was indicative to their early career. Also pot smoking is very bad as it has a higher sticky tar-like residue added to the lungs and George was a heavy pot smoker as well a large part of his life.
Cigarette smoking is a horrible addiction - not a "habit" as non-smokers flippantly call it. It takes years to quit and be successfully quit. Sometimes it's too late.
It goes up to heaven where Jimi, Stevie Ray, and George who all bless it and say thank you for returning it to us.

Why did the Beatles want to be musicians?
For the same reason most of us want to be musicians -- to express ourselves. In John's case there wasn't much else he could do. He was a rebel and was thrown out of college and had no qualifications whatsoever to fall back on -- other than his guitar which his mum encouraged him to play. Paul's father was a trumpeter and he encouraged his boys to play piano, although Paul preferred to learn by ear. He bought Paul a trumpet which he subsequently traded in for a guitar. By the time he met Lennon he'd already composed a couple of songs, one of which became "When I'm 64". George was the most academic of the three but, at age 14, became hooked on music after hearing Elvis' "Heartbreak Hotel". School took a back seat from then on. When the three finally got together in 1957, Paul and John stole each other's melodies and put their own words to them. Generally, whoever sang the song wrote the lyrics but they gave each other equal credit. Along with George and Richard's input, The Beatles were prolific songwriters, producing over 200 original songs over a 10 year period. That's more than two album's worth of music every year. You simply don't produce that kind of output by not wanting to be a musician. In the end it was the screaming fans that spoiled it for them (and for those of us who can appreciate talent without screaming and fainting). By the end they hated playing together because they simply couldn't hear what they were playing anymore. There were other reasons, of course, but when you don't enjoy your work then it's time to move onto something else.
Why did george harrison die all of a sudden in 2001?
It was actually not "all of a sudden," as George had battled with throat cancer since it was diagnosed in 1997. He blamed the cancer on smoking so much in the 1960s. He was also diagnosed with a brain tumor. George succumbed to his disease at a friend's mansion in the Hollywood Hills on November 29, 2001. The official cause of death on his death certificate was "metatistic non-small cell lung cancer".
