Guiding in Brazil began in Rio de Janeiro in 1919, following a letter from Olave, Lady Baden-Powell, to open the Movement. The first 11 Guides (Bandeirantes) made their Promise on August 13, 1919 which is celebrated as the foundation day of the Federação de Bandeirantes do Brasil.

In other countries, the Girl Scout/Girl Guide national associations set their own policies for money earning projects for their members. Girl Scout Cookie Sales dates and procedures are different for each Girl Scout council. In addition, the Girl Scout Neighborhood or Service Unit can set due dates as can the troop/group leaders or cookie chair.

Asociación De Guías Scouts De Colombia or Girl Guides Association of Colombia (GATS)

Girl Guides in Columbia participate in projects based on health, hygiene, recreation, medical services and the environment.

They participate in festivals, raffles, and bazaars to finance activities.

They "learn by doing" and develop leadership skills, responsibility, service, equality, and discipline.

They learn the Guide Promise and Law. They attend camp.

They attend meetings and they work in patrols of 5 to 8 girls.

Each level has various activities which a Guide must complete in order to earn the scarf and one or two badges for that level. Guides at the highest level may also earn various bars for mastering various skills such as First Aid and hiking.

The answer depends on which Girl Scout council you are located in. Each council sets their own sale dates. However, troop leaders might set a different date so that they have time to do the tally before turning in the order. So, the best thing to do is to contact your troop leader or your Girl Scout council.

The letters WAGGGS stand for the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts which is the the largest voluntary movement dedicated to girls and young women in the world.

Each World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) member country/organization sets their own guidelines for money earning projects for their members. Girl Guides in Panama would sell whatever their national organization allows them to sell.

Girls softball started in Chicago in 1887 when George Hancock and a couple other guys pulled out some boxing gloves and an old broom stick after a football game and drew a chalk line to make a dimond inside of the football field.

Girl Guides Scotland are part of Girl Guiding UK. Rather than completing money earning projects, Guiding units charge a subscription (subs) that can be paid weekly, monthly, or each term, to cover the cost of equipment and hire of the meeting place. There is also an annual subscription to cover the costs of running the organization plus an extra charge for special activities, days out, residential events and holidays. They can also use a type of income tax refund called "Gift Aid" where leaders can claim back the tax paid.
