Good acoustics involves careful design of the auditorium, with attention to proper sound reflection and absorbing characteristics at various points in the hall. In a hall with good acoustics, a properly trained person without a microphone can make himself heard and understood throughout the hall.

Because getting good acoustics is as much an art as a science in architectural design, sometimes getting good acoustics is more a matter of luck, especially in the older halls.

To off-set poor acoustics, or failure to attempt any sort of acoustical design in newer halls, heavy use of amplification and microphones is used. Sometimes it helps, but it is not usually a complete substitute for a hall with good acoustics.

I love my SM-57. Its got a huge range and is totally the best universal mic that can get anything from an amp to a snare to vocals. Unless you really need high end gear for really serious recording, I'd go with a versitile mic. I imagine though if you're asking on here, you are not doing something so serious to drop a few grand on a ultra high end (low end :) ) mic.

Use of a whammy bar will not damage a guitar. A Floyd Rose however does have the possibility of snapping a string because you can pull the strings tighter, maybe a Bigsby as well. Unless you're pulling up on a standard trem that hasn't been set up properly, a whammy bar won't damage the guitar.

I have a Really close friend who was trying to impress his lady friend and he spotted my Santa Rosa Folk Gituar (serial number K119) in my room and asked me how much I wanted for it. Its a little dinged up around the edges and is missing two of the strings (minor cosmetic issues) and he offered me $50.00 for mine (I rarely play it because i have an electric gituar-a fender to be exact-) and i have had this gituar for about 6 years...Hope this answer helped!!

Tablature is a way of reading music on guitars e.g. Top E ------------0 (0 = the open string so 1 would be the first fret) B------------------0----------- G-------------------------0---------------- D---------------------------------0------------------- A------------------------------------------0---------------------- Bottom E---------------------------------------------------0----------------------- this is in an order so you would play the top E first then B then G and so on and so forth. Bass guitar strings should be tightened to the point where they are in tune. This generally doesnt require an incredibly tight wind, but there definitely will be a certain amount of tension when properly tuned.

An electric guitar creates sound using magnetic pickups. When a string is stummed the vibration is transformed through the magnet pickup creating a sound through you amplification that is being used.

I've seen Big Bad Voodoo Daddy play on several occasions and every time I saw them Scotty was playing a Gibson ES-175. Its either vintage or some sort of vintage reissue of a late 50s edition of the guitar.

You probably don't know this song, but it's called "The Messenger" by Linkin Park. I know what you're thinking; Linkin Park is way to heavy to have a love song, but this is very soft. You should listen to it.
