Can Muslims eat French nougat?

Yes, they can. French traditional nougat recipes use sugar and honey, almonds and less frequently other nuts (hazelnuts, pistachios, walnuts) and egg whites and sometimes candied fruits. The brown nougat recipe is bristle and crunchy as it doesn't have the egg white addition. Both recipes are acceptable for Halal diet, contrary to English or American nougat-like candies, which most often contain gelatin and additional fats.

Is maggi noodles haram?

Everything is harmful for health if you consume more of it. just eat it infrequently and you'll be fine. Instant noodles are often criticized as being unhealthy or junk food. A single serving of instant noodles is high in carbohydrates but low in fiber, vitamins and minerals. Noodles are typically fried as part of the manufacturing process, resulting in high levels of saturated fat and/or trans fat. Additionally, if served in an instant broth, instant noodles typically contain high amounts of sodium. The current U.S. Recommended Dietary Allowance of sodium for adults and children over 4 years old is 2,400 mg/day. Some brands may have over 3,000 mg of sodium per package in extreme cases. Instant noodles and the flavoring soup base also contain high amounts of monosodium glutamate.

What food or drink are not Muslims allowed to eat?

Muslims are not allowed to eat:

· meat of pork

· meat of dead animals

· meat of animals dedicated to any than Allah

· meat of animals killed by any means but not slaughtered

· meat of wild animals with a canine tooth and of any bird with talons

Quran says (meaning English translation):

"Forbidden to you are the flesh of dead animals and blood and the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to any other than Allah, and that which has been killed by strangling or by beating or by falling or by being gored, and that which has been (partly) eaten by a wild beast except that which you make lawful by slaughtering (before its death), and that which has been sacrificed to idols...." (Quran, chapter 5, Verse 3)

Prophet Mohamed (peace be on him) states also that:

"forbade the eating of any wild animals with a canine tooth and of any bird with talons."

In addition, Muslims are not allowed to drink alcohols or blood.
All food is allowed for Muslims to eat except what is explicity forbidden in Quran and by prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Refer top question below.

What is the difference between jhatka and halal chicken?

The meat (in terms of taste and texture) is no different between the two different methods of slaughter. However, halal provisions of dhabiha (slaughter) require two holes to be created in the throat to drain the animal of blood where as jhatka requires that the animal's head be hacked off in one go. Dhabiha leaves less blood inside of the animal.

Is raw egg halal as it is present in mayonnaise?

Homemade mayo usually is made with raw eggs although pasteurized eggs work just as well. Commercial mayo probably doesn't use raw egg because people are such freaks about it and food companies have lawyers. Some foodies speculate that acid in the mayo (vinegar or lemon juice) help to neutralize any salmonella bacteria that may be present in some raw eggs.

The packing clearly mentions the source that has checked and approved the meat as Halal. Do an Internet search and see if the organisation really exists and then ask that certification if they have really checked XYZ meat company. Alternatively, you can buy from a Muslim shop and ask the person to swear that it is Halal. In that case, even if is not Halal, the sin will be upon the shopkeeper and not on the consumer.
