How do you train a hamster to come to you?

You should tame with her which means to make her trust you. To make your hamster become tame, you should visit them more then once a day. You should also take him/her out of their cage and hold your hamster to make them feel safe and secure by cupping them with your hands. The more you do this each day the more she will trust you! Sometimes when you tame with her all the time, someday they will come and greet you!

What is wrong with your hamster if it fell off its cage and was lying on its back not moving and then slowly started to move and she's moving much better now but is still slow?

Actually, hamsters are pretty sturdy, and they can't tell 5 inches from 5 meters, this is why they always fall off cliffs or high tables. They usually recover after a few days or a week. Taking your hamster the the vet is the best solution. You hamster may have injured one of its bones permanently, making it harder to move. Make sure the cage isn't high up and this incident won't happen again.

How many times do you feed a rabbit in a day?

Rabbits should have some food available at all times. Remove stale or bad food, and keep water always around for them.

Rabbits should have hay and water available at all times, 24/7. But, if a rabbit always has pellets to eat, it's likely she (or he) will eat too many. If a rabbit eats too many pellets, it can get sick, overweight, and unhealthy. Many experts recommend limiting your rabbit's pellets and also serving dark, fresh leafy greens every day. It's a good idea to split the pellets and greens into two meals per day: breakfast and dinner.

What shall I do when my hamster won't chew her wood block?

It's ok. My hamster trims her teeth by eating carrots and celery. You also find candy chewys at pet stores like pet smart. My hamster likes to chew on it every day since it has a different flavor rather than wood.

Does color affect a hamsters behavior?

No, not at all. Color is merely just a genetic gene. I do not see a reason for it to affect the hamster's behavior unless it was albino.

My hamster is a week old and i bought stairs for him from the store that he could go up and down on. but he never does them. he gets near the stairs but doesnt come down or up. is this normal?

As in it was literally born a week ago? Or, that you purchased it a week ago? If it's truly only 1 week old it probably can't climb them, physically, yet. Even if it's older than that it could still have trouble if it very young as it probably hasn't done anything like climbing stairs yet. If it is big enough try putting a small treat of tiny pieces of natural cheese on each step or a tiny piece of a vegetable to encourage it to climb. Hope it works for you.

Where can you buy a dwarf winter white Russian hamster in Australia?

I believe hamsters are not available anywhere in Australia due to what happened when rabbits were introduced here! The powers that be are very nervous about the import of 'exotic' pets incase they escape into the wild, breed and harm our ecosystem. Which is a great shame as hamsters are totally cute & I'd also love to have one.

If you can get one........

To be honest if you have had dwarf hamsters before then you shouldn't have too many problems with Russian hamsters. They tend to bite/nip more and are harder to tame. Don't get me wrong they are lovely hamsters but I wouldn't recommend them for children or people who haven't had dwarf hamsters

Why does my Syrian hamster keep biting the bars of the cage she has loads of toys?

My hamster did the same. I know why. You need to let her run free for a while. She feels locked in a prison and she wants to run around for a bit. Buy a hamster ball and let her run around in it. This is so much more amusing than the television...

Do adult hamsters sleep more than babies?

Are hamsters from Pets mart healthy and disease free?

Can you let a guinea pig play outside?

Answer

You can let them play outside but you will have to have them penned in some way.

If you have one of the cages that pop off from a plastic base what I do is take the wire part and put it on some grass and put the pig in. This way they will not run away but can still walk on the grass and get some sun, plus they love to eat fresh grass. Just make sure to find a patch of grass that's un-sprayed, free of animal contamination, and weeds as you don't want them to get sick from animal feces, and some plants can be toxic.

Be sure and watch them at all times.

You could also let them down if you have a fenced in area as long as you stay right there with them.

They should not be left out in the sun as they can over heat. you shouldn't take them out because i did and mine ran away and i never found her. :(
There is many ways to play with a Piggy! Some ways to keep it happy and having lots of fun is...
1) crinkle up a new paper bag (with no ink or print on it) open it up, and put hay/grass inside of it and crinkle it up a bit and your pig will chew through it to get to the hay, they love that!
2) get a few bricks, and stack them like steps, and let your pig go up them like a person would, just dont leave them unprotected.
3) if your dad has any spare wood, have him carve out a little ramp, or if it is already a long thin rrecatagle type thing, then just put one end on the ground, and on the other, put it ontop of a brick or something (a thick book, a little stool, etc) you dont want it to be too steep or your pig will slip on it and go back down to the bottom of it.)
4) if you dont already have one, use a little bottomless cage and spray your piggy with flea and tick spray so it doesnt get them, and let your pig run around and eat the grass, JUST MAKE SURE IT HASNT BEEN SPRAYED WITH WEED KILLER!!
5) have one person on one door way (sitting down) and you at another doorway (sitting down) and so on and so forth (however many doors is however many people youll need but just in the room) and let you pig run around, if you are worried your pig will go under the couch or anything and you wont be able to get it out, just line roled up towels around the bottom so it wont go under neath.
I hope my advice works, my guinea pig love to do these things and hopefully yours does too! :D good luck with your piggy!!
