On the show, the sonic screwdriver is basically a torch and makes no sound, they add the sound in later while editing.

All vehicles have many Allen screws on them. The only sensible and economical thing to do is buy 2 sets of Allen keys, usually 1/32 up to 3/8 in SAE and 1-10mm in metric. They only cost about $ 12 per set and will save you a lot of hassle if working regularly on cars.

Most likely something around 12 mm or !/2 inch. Try slipping various wrenches on till you find the correct securely fitting one. This will broaden your knowledge of how to fix autos. - Oh, one other hint on removing hood hinges or latches. -They must go back in exactly the same position, so I always run a 'Sharpie' around the edge of the plate, to ensure correct re-fitting.

It depends on the screwdriver. Only a really little one would weigh 3 ounces...but I guess you could make a great big screwdriver with a real long shank that weighs three pounds.

Screwdrivers can cost as little as a dollar. In all tools you get what you pay for. I have $15 dollar screwdrivers that have lasted over 20 years and I've broken many 1 dollar screwdrivers.

Both # 1 and # 2 phillips screws are very common in electrical fittings.

I use a 3/16 drill bit for that.
