this always annoyed me to, don't worry. you put your harvest moon ds and harvest moon friends of mineral town both into your ds and turn on your ds. your ds should activate the two games and you get mineral town people in your harvest moon ds game. people have said that the European version doesn't do this but mine works fine?? so I'm not sure about that. if you need more info then go on:

You cannot redo a heart event once you mess it up and saved your game which I'm assuming you did, but messing up a heart event does not ruin your chances with any one (as in you will still be able to marry them once you've met the requirements for marriage) you just lose Affection Points and possibly Friendship Points.
