Hippos are very territorial, and will attack anyone who enters their territory. They are very large animals, and can break bones just by stepping on you or throwing you around. They also have huge teeth!
An omnivore is a creature that eats both meat and plants for subsistence. Bears, raccoons, humans, and several animals are omnivores.
Female Hippos attain sexual maturity at around 6 years of age. Males reach sexual maturity at around 7.5 years of age. However, males don't get to mate until they are much larger and older. Hippos have a gestation period of around 8 months after which a single hippo calf is born. Baby hippos are born under water and weigh around 25 to 45 kilograms in weight (60 to 110 pounds). They are around 125 cms (50 inches) in length at birth.
What are the pedators of a hippo?
Crocodiles eat young hippos, but they won't tangle with an adult hippo. Lions have been known to attack hippos, but only out of desperation when there is nothing else to eat and only in packs...a single lion would be no match for an adult hippo. Even when attacked by a pack of lions, the hippo is likely to kill one or more of them and survive the attack itself.
Why are spacewalks so difficult to do if things do not weigh much?
Spacewalks, or EVA's, are not as easy as they looks to us. Here are some of the problems.
* disorientation
* Fear of falling, even though you know intellectually that it's not possible.
* instability when trying to perform a task - your legs can float if not tethered.
* equipment does not stay where you want it when you want it, and there is nothing to confine it once it starts moving off.
* more exertion is needed to perform tasks and movements. The spacesuit and gloves are restrictive, even though much money goes into reducing this problem. The pressurization of the suit makes movements awkward.
*increased mental effort required as each movement has to be thought about, even simple movements that are done without thinking on Earth.
* visor fogging
* knowledge of the very real dangers associated with being out in the open in space. Should an astronaut be hit by even a tiny particle of space rock or junk, they could die due to depressurization of their suit. Becoming separated from the spacecraft is another possibility, although many precautions are taken against this.
Hippos only eat plants, because they are herbivores. Any animals they kill are out of self defense. Although they can kill even lions or crocodiles, they would not be able to kill an elephant.
yes actually crocodiles eat hippos that are between 3 o 4 months when they areAWAY from their mother or family

A male hippo versus a male croc, gotta go with the hippo. They have been seen killing crocs.
crocs rule.i have seen hippos cant stand a chance against saltwater crocodile nor nile crocodile. you seem to notice that crocs are eaten by anacondas.but crocs which are eaten are caimans. anaconda cant eat big huge crocs.
The two normally avoid each other, but adult hippos, especially males, will drive crocs away from the area if the croc appears to become aggressive. Male hippos do kill crocs.
Is it feasible for a snake to eat a hippo?
I would guess that there are snakes large enough to eat a baby hippo, but I've no idea if there's documented evidence that this has happened.
How long does it take for a hippo to swallow a person?
It takes about 20 seconds for a hippo to swallow and chew a person.
No you see as hippos are a African animal. they are not found in China.
Hippos are extremely huge animals. They are one of the largest land animals. It is the third largest mammal on earth by size and weight. The average weight for Adult Males is between 1500 and 1800 kilograms which works out to 3300 to 4000 pounds in weight. Females are much lower in weight and weigh between 1300 to 1500 kilograms which works out to around 3000 pounds. Adult Males weighing around 3000 to 4000 kilograms have also been seen and recorded. Male hippos grow throughout their lives and that is why they can grow to such huge weights.
