No, you do not lose. When you scratch on the break, your opponent has ball in hand behind the head string. == If a player scratches on a legal break shot, (1) all balls pocketed remain pocketed (exception, the 8-ball: see rule 4.8), (2) it is a foul, (3) the table is open. Please Note: The incoming player has cue ball in hand behind the head string and may not shoot an object ball that is behind the head string, unless he first shoots the cue ball past the head string and causes the cue ball to come back behind the head string and hit the object ball."

What is the max you can set your furnace at without getting expensive and still stay warm?

Generally 70 to 75 degrees F. Closer to 70 will keep you at around room temperature, and comfortable if your home is properly insulated. If you have an older home, and or one that tends to be drafty, then more towards 75. Higher than 75 degrees and the utility bills may become excessive.

How do you shut up house for long period?

Many people follow a list when leaving a home for a time so that there is no damage during the time that they are gone. Make sure that the roof and other structural features are in good repair. Clean the floors--vacuum and mop-- and bathrooms and kitchen thoroughly. Toss all trash and garbage. Empty the refrigerator and freezer and wash it out thoroughly. Leave a box of baking soda or coffee in the refrigerator to keep odors from accumulating. If you are leaving the electricity on, then close the refrigerator doors. Otherwise, prop it open. Check that the windows are closed tightly. Unplug TVs, toasters, computers, and other appliances in case of electrical storms. Turn the water off at the main. Then, run the faucets and toilets until no water is coming out--there will be none in the pipes to freeze. Turn off the gas to water heaters and furnaces. If your house is older, cover the furniture with sheets to avoid dust collecting. Wash all bedding and put back on the beds.

Is it okay to turn off the heat when on vacation?

There are several things to consider such as pets (if they are staying home), food in the cupboards, how long you will be away, is your home insulated properly, and costs incurred from heating a home unnecessarily. Generally during colder temperatures, especially if it is freezing or below outside, most people will choose to leave their thermostats set to between 60 and 68 degrees F. Keeping the house at around room temperature is not only good if you have pets staying home, but keeps any food in the cupboards from freezing if temperatures dip down low enough to do so. Depending on how long you will be gone, and if your home has proper insulation, the costs incurred won't be in excess, and you won't return to a freezing home.

How do you get water out of cinder block?

If this is water that's from the fresh mortar, because the block has just been laid, there's nothing you can do but be patient.
Trying to speed up the cure time will cause cracking and weaken the mortar.

If this a block structure that's been open to the elements for a while, you can use a dehumidifier.

If the building is large and you can vent it, use a "Torpedo" type gas heater.
Be very careful with a gas heater. You can burn up all the oxygen in the room and/or cause dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. Do not use this in a closed space.
It can also be a source of ignition for paint or solvent fumes or other flammable materials.

Is it possible to remove about a dozen bathroom wall tiles cut the wall to change a shower value and then put back same tiles without breaking them.?

Chances of breaking the tiles are about 99% sure, taking tiles off are very difficult and trying to put them back on again is not easy as the tile cement will still be attached to the old tile and trying to chip the old cement off will result in breaking the tile however if you dont and put the tiles back it will result in a lumpy tiling finish.

Doc says:

Doc says that if you are trying to replace an existing shower valve without tearing out your tile wall then you should check out versi-shower.com. They sell shower units that mount to your existing tile and covers the area necessary to remove or bypass the old valve. Good product and cheaper than busting up your wall.
