What is the difference between positive and negative feedback cycles?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Most of our bodies systems run on negative feedback. This means, for example, say you are hungry. Your body produces and releases a signal and when you are fed, your body realizes it needs to stop making you feel hungry. So other hormones/signals are released to quiet down the initial one. Very few of ourbodies systems run on positive feedback. One example is labor contractions. A signal is given in the body to have a small contraction, that contraction happens and instead of the body saying "okay mission accomplished" and quiteig down the first signal (like in negative feedback) it actually INCREASES the amount of the initial signal so you get more and more powerful contractions.

Hope I explained that so you understand it!

What is morpholgy?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Morphology means "the study of form".

No, not on the race track. "Form" here refers to the shapes of structures.

In biology, plant morphology includes the study of the different shapes of leaves, for example, and root systems. Animal morphology studies the shapes of whole animals, or parts, including internal organs (e.g. liver morphology). Morphology is often linked to physiology: form and function. Biologists try to relate the shape and the functioning of structures in animals and plants. "Morphology" is also used in other contexts, such as geomorphology. Morphology is also a linguistics term, and involves the study of the structure of words in a language and the study of word formation.

While possible, it is unlikely, unless they accidently mixed your tests up with someone elses. The tests they use nowadays are fairly accurate. If you think it really is a false positive, and it gives you some extra peace of mind then you should retest it.

What happens if you don't take second dose of the HPV vaccine?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The best immune response with the HPV vaccine is after 3 doses. If you miss the second dose, get it as sson as you can and then get the third dose - at the appropriate interval if possible. The basic idea is to get three does and not wory toom much about meeting an exact schedule.

If you stop after the first dose, your protection will be much less than if you get all three doses.

How does HPV affect society?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The worst thing about these is that a person could be contagious without symptoms. It is possible for a birthing mother to unknowingly pass the virus to her newborn.

A child with chickenpox will not be able to return to school or daycare for seven to ten days after the first blisters show up. If a parent needs to stay home from work to care for the child, they may use up the bulk of their vacation/sick leave time.

Reactivation of chickenpox in later life (shingles) often causes significant pain and time off from work, not due to contagiousness but because of pain and fatigue.
