Yes, It is from the family know as opioids which comes from the opium plant (condiene, morphine, methadone, etc.) These are all narcotics and controlled substances.
Are Valium and hydrocodone in the same class?
No, Valium is in a class of drugs called benzodiazepines, while hydrocodone is a synthetic opiate. The effects of these drugs vary greatly, as well as the risk in taking them.
Does Vicodin work for people with ADHD?
Well I does for me in a big way. I never take medicine maybe once every few years... however i noticed that after i had some dental work years back the doc prescribed vicodin for pain. I didn't take it initially but i developed dry-socket which is painful as hell.
So i took it... After getting thru the dry socket pain i was at the last bit of recovery and really wasn't in that much pain so i took another vicodin while i was normal... Man you talk about energy, focus and drive.. i had it... I was able to accomplish everything i wanted to accomplish, i felt far more focused and enjoyed doing what i was doing(A calm euphoria for me)... I was expecting some sort of side effect but i could not find anything strange at all. I came on gently and wore off invisibly for me.
Allot of people say this stuff should make you sleepy... it does not at all for me... and because of the lack of side effects i can clearly see how people would become addicted to this stuff.
So the bottom line is in the last 4 years I've taken a vicodin pill twice when i didn't need to.... and this was only in desperate times in which i needed to focus and get things done and it has worked every time.
My wife knows this and we joke about it because i always have opposite reactions to most medications and that's why i refuse to take anything (aspiring, Tylenol, allergy... i take nothing)...
that said i wish that this was a legal medication for my "Closet" adhd because i could definitely be convinced to take this and i would be about 50 to 75% more productive if I did. However i don't know anything about the long term usage and whether or not it would remain as effective as it is with routine use.

Is 30 mgs of hydrocodone to much to take at one time?
I have been taking 10mg hydrocodone tablets for ten years due to getting severely messed up on an accident. Sometimes I take them just to feel good and that usually takes about 30mg to 40mg for me. I was really worried about taking too many until I found out that regular dopers often take hundreds of milligrams.
So, unofficially, I would say it probably is not that good for you but unless you have some other condition, it probably is not that bad for you either.
Is it safe to take clindamycin and Vicodin?
My dentist gave me Clandamycin and Vicodin... however on the slip the pharmacy gave me, it says that when taking this antibiotic, do not take any narcotic pain relievers... so I'm not going to risk. it...
Improved AnswerThere is no problem in taking Clindamycin and hydrocodone (vicodin). I'm surprised about the slip you received at your pharmacy.. i can't see why someone wrote that... maybe in case of important lung infections.. when you don't want to block cough.. (narcotics block cough a little bit). If it's not the case, you can take narcotic pain relievers with most of all "normal" antibiotics, including clindamycin. If you experience the digestive system side effects of the Clindamycin, the narcotics can sometimes worsen those symptoms though.
Can mixing vicodin and xanax cause death?
Yes. Both drugs cause respiratory depression especially taken together or mixed with alcohol and/or antihistmamines. You will fall asleep and stop breathing.
Hydrocodone 5-325 does that have a cough syrup in it?

yes
What is Hydrocodon acetaminophen?
Hydrocodone is a Narcotic pain reliever, and cough suppressant.
How is works? The brain works on many different electric signals, that react with the rest of our body, and help decide what chemicals our body needs to function. Hydrocodone works by blocking the receptors on the nerve cells so we don't feel pain.
Acetaminophen is a Non-Narcotic pain reliever and fever reducer it helps by elevating the nerves thus temporarily blocking or numbing the feeling of pain.
This is a prescription drug, used for moderate to severe pain relief.
And is also known as;
And is reactive with alcohol.
Typically, no. Hydro gives many people energy; despite it being an opiate, it does not act similarly to heroin's "ditchy" effect. You'll probably experience a surge of energy, and get somewhat ditchy a few hours afterwards. Even if hydro does cause you to become sleepy, the half-life of the medication is very short (a few hours), so it will be metabolized and eliminated from your body quickly, and the dose in your bloodstream will fall below the level needed to experience whatever effect it's having on you within a few hours. Also, the effect depends on your tolerance. If you've never taken the med before, it's dangerous as well as useless to take that much. If you're looking to get high, you can get high off of a couple Lortabs (it's Lortab, not loratab - you shouldn't take anything that you can't spell) and a 1/4 ounce of hydro (hydro is the active ingredient in Lortab as well, so keep that in mind). Footballs are usually 1mg, so 1mg Xanax should do - its added effects will help. If you have a low tolerance, you're better off getting high multiple times. Hope that helps - be careful but have fun! "Hydrocodone and Oxycodone are from the same family "OPIATES". Your urine test, if broad, will show up as positive for opiates and if it is for legal reasons, like probation, they usually will order a more in-depth test to distinguish between Hydrocodone (Class 3 scheduled drug) and Oxycodone (Class 2 Schedule Drug). Same answer from someone else below:...
Actually it depends on the test. A simple home test will only show opiates, a better test will show a difference between the two drugs.
Yes - it is a derivative of morphine. It is a schedule II narcotic.
If you'm taking hydrocodone why wouldn't it show up in a urine test?
Hydrocodone is a synthetic opioid, and (oddly enough), many standard drug tests don't test for synthetic opiates such as hydrocodone, oxycodone, or fentanyl. The common tests usually test for morphine and codeine, which are the products of heroin.
However, a doctor or employer can request a test specifically for synthetic opiates.

Why do people use hydrocodone for a street drug?
it's commonly prescribed and fairly easy to obtain. it also provides a decent "high." hydrocodone has an analgesic potency equal to or greater than that of oral morphine. it's commonly prescribed and fairly easy to obtain. it also provides a decent "high." hydrocodone has an analgesic potency equal to or greater than that of oral morphine.

Is tramadol considered a narcotic and how long can it be detected in a urine test?
Tramadol is non-narcotic.
The Vicodin is the nasty part; too much of that can kill. If your doctor has prescribed these medications, then it's OK to take them as prescribed.
