Why is absolute advantage not sustainable?

Absolute Advantage is not sustainable for one dominant reason: when a product or service being monopolized by an individual nation or person exceeds a sale price deemed acceptable alternatives will be found. This reaction can be seen in numerous examples including:

- the rubber tree market in Brazil.

For a time Brazil was the only known producer of rubber in the world. For that reason, they were able to set their prices without much, if any, competitive thought. At some point, several rubber plants were smuggled out of Brazil and planted in the comparable climate of Indonesia. Indonesia now serves as the largest producer of rubber. (synthetic alternatives not to be neglected)

When the export promotion copy of shipping bill is prepared and why?

Firstly you have to understand what EP copy is. Export Promotion, it simply defines to promote the export of some specific articles (metals, etc.). They pay some subsidy at an prespecified rate on different metals known as Drawback. EP copy may be defined as " the document stating the calculations of drawback with rates of drawback & the weight/value of article (whicher is lower) mentioned on it." by prof. Shehzad Aslam. It is prepared only if we have to claim the drawback on any specified invoice or export bill. If we are sending the good to the buyer without claiming for Drawback then there is no need of EP Copy. Hope its clear now.

What percentage of the oil out of Alaska actually stays in the us you heard most of it goes to china and japan?

There is a world market in oil, the companies that produce and own it will sell to whoever pays most. Also I suppose it is a fairly short sea trip to those areas compared with from the Middle East or Africa.. I read today that the US imports more oil from Africa (Angola and Nigeria) than from Saudi, so patterns of trade do change over time.

Answer

When the Trans Alaska Pipeline was constructed it was illegal to ship any of the oil from Alaska to other countries. Then during the Clinton Administration when oil was $8 a barrel, that law was changed. For 2 years Alyeska Pipeline Terminal shipped to Japan and South Korea a total of 5 times. They decided that this was not cost effective and now they no longer ship there. This was years ago. Now all the oil goes to refineries in Washington State, California and Hawaii. It provides most of the fuel in the Northwestern States. None of it leaves the country.

I have this information because I live in Valdez, Alaska. Where the end of the Trans Alaska Pipeline is located and the oil is shipped from. I receive my information from locals including family members who work at the Alyeska Pipeline Terminal (some of who are managers).
