What do you do if an inspection shows that your home has termites?

During home inspections in New Jersey we find 80% or so of the homes (more than 20 years old) have or had termites at one time. It is quite common and usually a termite treatment is required. Treatment is usually about $500 to $1,000 dollars

However the real problem is when the home inspector tells the buyer there may be latent or hidden damages. That is where the big money comes into play. Termite damages can cost hundreds to tens of thousands of dollars to repair.

A good home inspector will make his or her client aware of the potential for latent damages and require the area where damages may exist be exposed to determine if repairs are necessary.

Termite damages that are NOT disclosed to home buyers are a very frequent cause for very expensive litigation where the previous home owner and realtors frequently find themselves digging deep into their pockets to pay out for damages.

What order is the flying ant in?

All ants are in the order Hymenoptera. That is the order of ants, bees, wasps and sawflies.

People who know no better also call termites "white ants", but that is a bad name, because termites are nearly as different from ants as it is possible to be and still be an insect. Termites are more like cockroaches than ants.

Oh yea, lets see.... Ticks can go pretty deep in the skin. They can get in your hair and go pretty deep into your scalp, but not so deep to where you can't get it out. Good enough? That's about all I know. I'm not an expert. Haha. :)

How big is the arctic bee?

The Arctic bee, specifically the species known as the Arctic bumblebee (Bombus polaris), typically measures about 1 to 2 centimeters in length. These bees are adapted to cold environments, and their size helps them conserve heat. Like many bumblebee species, they have a robust body and are covered in dense hairs, which aids in insulation and pollen collection. Their relatively small size is advantageous for navigating the Arctic's challenging conditions.

How do you get rid of the little flying bugs around your fruits in the house?

Answer

You are probably making reference to the common fruit fly "drosophila melanogaster", or to one of the many species in the genus "drosophila". There is a wonderful article in Wikipedia. This will at least give you a direction in searching for ways to eliminate them. A link is provided.

Answer 2:

First. Remove all fruit from the area or just stick it in the fridge. Take a banana peel and a gallon jug. Place the peel in the jug and most of the flies will join it, usually over night. For the ones in flight, I hit with a solution of dish soap and water in a spray bottle about 25% soap and 75% water. This makes their wings stick to their bodies and they fall to the ground.

ANSWER 3: Citronella is very good for repelling insects like flies. You can get it in candle and essentiall oil form.

Answer 4

Cover your fruit with a cloth or cover. It probably wont stop them coming but you can just spray them with bug spray.

answer 5 TRy putting about one inch of vinegar in the bottom of a glass, then take a piece of paper and roll it into a funnel shape the larger end being the same size as the top of the glass. place the funnel into the glass leaving the small end about an inch above the vinegar. the fruit flies will fly down the cone and into the glass, and will be trapped in the glass eventually falling into the vinegar to die. when you catch some compare them to a picture on the internet to be sure they are in fact fruit flies and not another species of filth fly. e.i ( phorid fly, moth fly, drain fly.

What are these tiny insects that unless you really lookcan hardly see and are usually on your kitchen counter window sills or on paper?

Sounds like: Spider mites (Family Tetranychidae, Order Acari) are not insects; they are closely related to spiders, harvest men (daddy long-legs), and ticks. Unlike insects, which have six legs and three body parts, spider mites have eight legs and a one-part body. They also lack wings, antennae, and compound eyes. Individual spider mites are almost microscopic, yet when they occur in large numbers, they can cause serious damage. Dozens of species attack shade trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants. If you have fruit out on your counter such as bananas or pineapple then fruit flies are a culprit. Also there are Noseeums (?) a tiny fly that are hard to see and can bite, but just pesky.
