You may have turned the iPad in such a way as to block the WiFi signal, or placed your hand over the antenna area. If you are located at the outer fringe of your WiFi reception area, you will have to be careful how you hold your iPad.

There aren't traditional power settings like there are on laptops. To maximize battery life, lower the screen brightness, turn off features you aren't using (like WiFi and Bluetooth), set the Auto-Lock to a shorter interval, and turn off notifications for programs you don't need.

The iPad apps need to be created specifically for the iPad, it will not run standard software, and as yet there is not a version of Open Office available for the iPad.

Go to the stores that are like the illegal kiosks that sell cases and they unlock iPhone or try and buy it online. It's called iNormagravfree. It's normally $129.99 . What you do is you but you open the cover of iNormagravfree and stick your iPod in it face up and then close it and then choose your iPod model and then turn it on. Wait 5 minutes and open the cover take your iPod and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then you can look at the back of your iPod. You will see the engraving is gone but also the apple logo and all the writing on the back is gone and it's basically a mirror. Now what it will do is the part that melted will go back on to the iPod. The melted part did turn in to a liquid so it loses all the writing and everything. After the layer is but back on, it reshines the layer until it's a mirror. When that is done it freezes it. After that it stamps on the original writing (apple logo, serial number) without the ingraving! It gets you serial number from you old backing because before it melted off the first layer, it took a picture of the back of your iPod.

It doesn't have a word processor, but you can get little apps that will keep notes and text files. You can also type into emails. But it's more for browsing the internet rather than for typing homework.

1. Sync your iPad with iTunes or iCloud. My preference is iTunes, because you can sync with a local computer through a cable and not have to worry about communication problems throught WiFi or 3G.
2. Plug the iPad into your computer. Wait for the computer to recognize your iPad and load iTunes. Wait for iTunes to complete the Syncing process -- sometimes seven steps.
3. Backup your iPad. Click the Back Up Now button in iTunes and wait for the process to complete.

6. Watch you iPad restart. Disconnect your iPad from the computer and wait for it to restart. In a few minutes, your device will restart, and your apps, settings, and other data (like contacts and music) will be restored.
7. Smile. Your jailbeak is now unbroken and your iPad is back to its original jailed state.

Unless that computer has all your music, you will lose all the music on your iPhone and it will be replaced with their music. So instead, if you just want their music but still keep your music, just drag the music files to your iPhone.

The answer is dependent upon what you intend to use it for.

For example:

The iPad supports Wireless-N technology while the iPhone supports up to Wireless-G.

The iPad supports up to a 64 gig flash drive while the iPhone supports up to 32 gigs.

While this may seem like the iPad is technologically superior, and technically it is, it may simply be a factor that the iPad has more room to put this technology into the space it provides as compared to the iPhone/iPod touch.

But then again maybe it's not, and they're saving this for the next generation of the iPhone. It's impossible to tell with Apple, which is why the rumor mill always churns at full speed with this company due to their secrecy. But to be honest, my iPhone doesn't need to connect at wireless-N speeds. If I needed something with that much speed, I'd own a laptop and a 4G wireless card.

One thing I'd consider an upgrade personally is that there is no proximity sensor in the iPad. I've lost count how many times I've hit the 'home' button on my iPhone only to have it open an icon on my bottom menu because my knuckle was near the screen, without actually touching it.

All in all, if you need a "light computer" go with the iPad, if you MUST select an Apple product. Otherwise, the iPhone/iPod touch should work for you fine.

On the i pad you cant get on anything flash (no facebook) you cant open or have anything .jpg (most pictures, songs, documents) you cant multitask (having to things open at once, so you have to completely shut off the internet to open a picture) for reading books on the iPad, you have to have PERFECT lighting or the glossy screen will make it nearly impossible. They say the battery lasts up to 10 hours, which would be great if you could buy a replacement battery so that you wouldn't have to wait 12 hours for it to charge! So, the iPad is pretty much just a big iPod touch with less functionality!! NOT worth the money!

Apple products don't support flash because that's Apple's decision. Steve Jobs himself claimed that flash was 'too buggy' and therefore wouldn't support it on an Apple platform, so regardless of what you choose, you won't get flash. You simply get facebook on the iPhone/iPod touch because, pardon the cliche, 'there's an app for that.'

Personally, for the price, I'd just buy a laptop. Why spend 700 bucks for a 64 gig iPad with limited capability when you can buy a full-on Windows 7 laptop like mine for 100 bucks more that supports blu-ray playback, a 17.5" screen, a far larger hard drive, etc?

While I think Apple hit a home run with the iPhone (I LOVE mine, and how many 'iPhone killers' have come and gone?), however, I see the iPad being as big a flop as AppleTV.

It really depends. The iPod Touch is way more convenient if you are constantly on the go or use it in the car, away from home, on airplanes, etc. It also charges faster and is (obviously) less bulky.

The iPad is good for if you want to read, play games while looking at details (doodleBuddy would be fun on an iPad) and have a way easier keyboard. However, it would be really bulky in say the car, would break easily, considering its size and weight bc ppl would drop it. Also if you brought it on an airplane ppl would steal it while you were in the lavatory, basically guaranteed. And it charges way slow and would be hard to play games like DoodleJump and CatchTheEgg on. But Cupcakes! would be fun. ;] so I guess it really depends on your taste and what your gonna use it for.

LCD screens made now days are quite durable, much more durable than older LCD screens. The iPhone and iPod Touch screens (particularly the 2nd and 3rd generations) have proven to be very, very reliable, with very few bad pixels over time. So, the iPad will probably prove to be quite durable as well. However, if the screen does go, it may be wise to weigh the pros and cons of replacing the entire unit. It may be that replacing the entire unit, and selling the broken one on Ebay may prove to be the smarter choice.

One other caveat, often times it isn't the LCD screen, but rather the bulb that provides the illumination that is the problem. Replacing a bulb is far cheaper than replacing an entire LCD screen. I replaced a bulb on a first-generation iPod Touch for $10. I bought it for $10 on Ebay, spent $10 fixing it, and got a perfectly good iPod Touch for $20 (plus $5 for shipping). I've done this with many units and given them to family, friends or sold them to co-workers. Point being, sometimes it's cheaper to fix a unit, and sometimes it's better to buy a new one and enjoy the increased capacity, functionality and fresh longevity of the new product.
