The United States supports both Israel, Egypt, and Palestine. The United States is also prepared to support and aide any Arab country (like Egypt) that is willing to trade violence and antagonism for peace.

The United States support for the State of Israel is the strongest of the three comes from a variety of sources. Israel has cooperated with the United States on diplomatic issues, military and intelligence exchanges, large amounts of trade, and significant technological investment. In addition there a numerous Americans who support the State of Israel because of religious convictions on top of the already-listed reasons.

Egypt is the second-largest individual recipient of American Aid (after Israel) and this money has gone to fund the Egyptian Army primarily as well as infrastructure maintenance. Given the corruption in the Mubarak Regime, not much of this money trickled down to Egyptian commoners, but it was there. The United States maintains a strategic alliance with Egypt also on account of the Suez Canal which sees most of the Persian Gulf oil-tankers pass through.

The question itself is biased and incorrect. The Palestinians never had their own

homeland. Before the formation of Israel, they were under the Ottomans and

then the British.

Regardless of the problems with the question, the name of the region you are

looking for is Palestine.

The irony here is the fact that this website is a "Question and Answer" meeting

place, yet if some innocent and well-meaning contributor were to come along

and answer "Kurdistan," the person with the so-called "question" would jump

up and protest "No! That's not the correct answer." His question really isn't a

question at all; or rather it's a question in the Socratic method, in which the

purpose in asking is not to get an informative answer. He asks it in order to

make a point, highlight his agenda, grind his axe, spread his views, employ his

metaphor, and proclaim his gospel.

For the contributor trawling the site looking for questions to answer with facts

and a rudimentary knowledge of history, coming across this question and

electing to play it straight, perhaps the best answer would be a simple:

"There is no such region in the Middle East."

First, there were twelve tribes of Israel.

Second, if one knows where to look, remnants of the twelve tribes can be found wherever they existed. Civilizations always leave a mark and one can find the mark of the tribes of Israel anywhere from Egypt, to Syria, to Germany. However, since the twelve tribes have now become one Jewish people, it is safe to say that the best place to look is where they now reside, in Israel.

Egypt is located mostly in Africa, but partially in Asia. Specifically, the Sinai Peninsula is the Asian part of Egypt.

Egypt straddles both Africa and Asia while Israel is fully in Asia.

There are a number of them. The first that comes to mind is Elijah the Tishbite, but nearly every Prophet that has a book named after them in the Old Testament preached in both Judea and the Galilee at some point.

You may also be thinking of Jesus Christ, but he is not typically considered a "Jewish Prophet" since Judaism does not recognize his claims to prophecy.
