How are jackals different from dogs and wolves?

Both jackals and wolves are wild dogs unlike their domestic cousins, such as the Husky and the Collie. It all depends on how a person defines the word "dog." The Dachshund and the Chihuahua, for example, are domestic dogs that can and do live in people's houses every day. Wild dogs, such as jackals and wolves do better living in the wild where they can roam around and enjoy nature.

What eats a jackal?

Jackals are omnivorous and can change their diet depending on available food. They mostly eat insects, berries, and small mammals like rodents, but will sometimes form a pack to hunt larger prey. They are commonly mistaken for eating mostly carrion, which is actually only a small portion of their diet. Jackals are not really picky when it comes to food, they just eat things that they can eat like: young Gazelles, rodents, rabbits, birds, eggs, reptiles, fish, insects, and fruit. And occasionally they eat road kill.

Are there jackals in Tennessee?

---- I have been wanting to get the time to write this so here goes at last, I am curious about the USA coyotes.

Here is the basis for my question; Here is South Africa we call Jackal, very similar to coyote ; NOW - for instance we have two kinds of jackals, based on area, firstly a Karoo jackal, small / large karoo, this is more rugged country( Karoo), these are hard to call jackals, then we get Free State Jackal higher up on our map, these jackals are simpler to call and much more - well to put it plain dumber. You cannot compare a Free State jackal to a Karoo jackal, they are far apart in being cunning and intelligent. Also Jackals nearer Pretoria side etc you cannot compare to a Karoo jackal lower down here say closer to the Sutherland area ( Northern Cape).

Some areas to call Jackal is far easier. I hunt Northern Cape, home of mighty clever canines, and you must know your story to call em, they no push over at all.

So, my question is do you have this with Coyotes also????
