First remove the door panel. move the window 3/4 of the way down and remove the 10mm bolts secureing the window. Then raise the window manually and secure to the top of the window frame with tape. pull back weather sheet and remove the window regulator/motor assembly. be aware s types are known to have faulty window regulator in hot climate zones. so before starting repair listen carefully to the door and use hit the window switch you might hear the motor turning. so you'll no what parts you'll need

For a X reg (2000) Jaguar S- type: to remove the rear left winder mechanism do the following...Remove the door panel: remove two Philips Screws from under the small rubber mat in the door pull recess. Starting at top outer edge lever the panel away from door using something that does not damage the paint (I used a flat wooden spatula) - you will hear the poppers as they release the panel; work down and around the panel using your fingers. At some point the bezel around the door opening handle will become loosened and you need to carefully remove it - I found this awkward. Lift the panel upwards off the door and remove the cable that goes to the switches.Next remove the large access cover made of soft material stuck on with body putty and the circular stick plastic disc covering a hole in the lower centre of the door. Remove the loudspeaker - four bolts into door metal and a cable. Remove the trim strip from the bottom edge of the window opening. Assuming the window can be moved, slide it so the securing peg can be seen through the small hole uncovered when you removed the sticky plastic disk. It appears as two concentric circles of plastic, outside diameter about 1cm, with a hole through the middle. Knock out the middle peg with a punch of about 4mm dia. This will disappear into the door and will be needed later! Once the inner peg is removed the split outer peg can be pushed through releasing the window from the regulator mechanism. Pull the window all the way up and secure with duct tape to the side of the frame so it doesn't crash down. Remove three nuts securing the mechanism push it in to the door void and remove the electric plug. I did this through the speaker apperture and found it awkward to get out - patience is needed if yours is as difficult. Maneuver the mechanism out through the access hole and survey the damage.

- Push on the [MLS/Km] button

- Turn the key ignition to on, the language should appear on the display

- Release the [MLS/Km] button

- Change the language using the same left button

- Validate by pushing the [A/B] for few seconds

When parking the car, you must first pull up the handbrake, then put the cars transmission into park. There is a little plastic ring at the base of the gear shift lever which takes the whole weight of the car if you dont do this. To release the gear shifter when its stuck, you must take the weight of the car off the plastic ring by rocking the vehicle back and forth and at the same time attempt to move the gear shift.

The fusebox is located under the passenger foot towards the right side of the car, how dumb. but its there

I hate to answer a question with a question but why do you need to check it as it is a sealed unit and as per Jaguar does not need to be checked so they say.......

Having said that there is a Allen head screw on the right side about 3inches above drain plug. Take it off and see if fluid comes out if not add until it runs out and put Allen screw back in. No there is not a dip stick. To add fluid there is a rubber plug or Allen screw on top of tranny behind battery box. You will need a long funnel.

Open boot,on right hand side pull away trim you will see a cpu box, undo bolts and let it hang down, put hand in gap to feel actuator undo 2 screws with philips screw driver slide actuator out, fit new one

Jaguar cylinders are number the same as Ford. Right side from the front of the hood towards the passenger compartment...1,2,3 Left side from the front of the hood towards the passenger compartment...4,5,6 on later model from 2002 the numbering was changed to 135 on right side and 246 on leftside ( from driving seat )

Not true, you can actually replace the drivers side headlight without removing the bumper however its not an easy job. Best thing to do is bring to the dealer which will cost you around 30 bucks to do. Its a pain in the a$$ if you do it yourself though, and is probably not worth your time to do it yourself.

You must disconnect the battery and reconnect it at the time it says on your clock.

Hi,

Start by lifting the arm rest lid and then grabing the console from the arm rest end pull sharply upwards. The centre console is only held in by clips. As you make your way towards the ashtray unclip the power jacks to the S(sport) button and the traction control button.

As you are replacing the ashtray you will need to remove the cigar lighter. This will also need unplugging while you are removing the console.

The ashtray is screwed to the console with 2 small torx.

Refit in the opposite way.

Buy a new one from Britishparts for £6 or from Jaguar for £50

No it will not. You need to fix the problem

There are 2 clips that you should be able to easily feel along the edge of the seat (they are pretty much aligned with the front seats). Just push on them and the seat should pop off easily. There might be a seat-belt like thing that goes through the passenger side of the bench seat. You'll have to undo the bolt that's under the seat cushion in order to detach the bench seat fully

it is very common the fail safe mode light comes on a s type. go to the auto part store and get you some electronic spray cleaner and go under the steering wheel where the brake pedal is and unplug the connecter for the brake pedal switch. then spray cleaner on both ends of the connectors and dont worry the cleaner evaporates fast so then connect back together and that will solve your problem.
