Jaguar S Type

The antenna module on a 2001 Jaguar S Type is located in the trunk. It controls when the antenna is raise and lowered via the operation of the car's radio.

the fuse for the washer motor is in drivers footwell fuse box it is number 30.

i believe this to be on the passenger side if not the driver side of the trunk you must remove the side carpet corner by unscrewining the little knobs upper corners

You can hope for faulty O2 sensors or a vacuum leak but it's probably a bad cat(s).

You can't. It is a closed system and per the Minneapolis Jaguar dealer, you do not change the fluid or filter ever. I do not believe this and now at 120k on my 2002 S Type 3.0L, my transmission is slipping. I am having the pan dropped and new fluid put in to see if it solves the slipping issue.

I am not familiar with a factory installed locking cap. If you mean the gas cap cover, there is a button on the lower left side of the dash board with a graphic of a gas pump. Pushing this unlocks the cover. Also, the remote key fob has a similar button.

Probably same as the XJ8. Turn the wheel 90 degrees from center. There are little access holes on both sides of the back of the wheel in the plastic cover. Recessed in the holes are TORX fasteners, I think #35. There is one on both the left and right sides of the back of the wheel. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FIRST AND WAIT 30 MINUTES BEFORE DOING THIS! Disconnect the airbag and radio/cruise switches. Remove the left and right horn push bars. Unscrew the steering wheel nut (15mm) Remove wheel. Slide off the radio and cruise swtiches. Mount all this on the new wheel, plug it all back in, screw the nut back on and you're done. Make sure you have the wheel centered before removal.

The low pressure port is the smaller of the two ports in the refrigerant lines. It has a blue or green cap on it.

It is located inside the gas tank

Adjust the sezt full forward. Remove rear bolts (requires a 12 point socket) Adjust the seat all the way rearward remove the front seat bolts. Tilt the seat rearward and remove the front connections to the module. tilt the seat forward and renove the rear connections to the module...Now pull the seat out and turn it upside down, There are two 7 mm screws in a metal bracket that hold the module on in the front . at the reart of the module it just snaps off the seat bar.

if v8 it is usually water pump. rarely is it the thermostat.

HID lights are the outter main lights. From the dealership they're $350.00 but I called around and got them from Monument Auto parts for $ 70.00. H1 are the dim inner lights that are used as your high beams. Those are Halogen lights and not that expensive. If you have problems, search for how to change jaguar headlights or something like that.

Look on the forward part TOP of the engine. You will find a black plastic housing that has an allen-head hole in a cap that reads tighten to 9 Newtons (can't remember exact torque but I THINK it is 9). That is the thermostat housing. It is a 2-piece housing that has a portion facing downward and a portion facing forward.

The forward portion has 3 VERY small METRIC screws. THIS is where the thermostat is in the housing. you MAY need to remove the air intake as it is a LARGE plastic form-fitted piece that runs directly in front of the housing screws with little clearance. Remove those 3 screws, and inside the triangle-shaped piece is the thermostat.

Look at the ENTIRE piece while you are under the hood. this housing (Both parts) is made of black plastic. It is prone to heat-warping and leaking. An aluminum replacement can be had for a few extra bucks, and is worth the investment.

The housing that is attached to the engine is hard to remove, as the four (4) mounting bolts are small, and VERY hard to get to. It is the housing that has an allen-head recess in the very top that reads like TORQUE TO 9 NEWTONS or something like that.

I replaced this housing in about 2 hours. Longest time spent was determining what size the allen-head bolts were, and getting to them to remove and replace. The area to just replace the thermostat was easier to get to, but to replace the housing with an aluminum one, you will need either an offset allen driver, or as I did, heat a thick screwdriver with a torch and melt a groove above the back 2 mounting bolts in order to get your allen wrench past the housing to be able to get to the back two (2) bolts.

Aluminum housing will be a 2-part piece, just as original, and can be put together prior to installing. (Including having installed thermostat) Then install onto intake, and tighten all four (4) bolts, attach hoses, and check for leaks. Aluminum piece will resist warping longer than the original plastic piece.

You have automatic rain sensing wipers and this is the sensor for the rain. If you turn the wipers all the way off or on, the light goes out.

Jaguar has a software upgrade for the Engine & Transmission computer module. Costs too much but will probably help. Also, one or more of the upstream O2 sensors on may be faulty, especially if you are getting a check engine light.

Maybe you have the valet button pushed. In the glove compartment it's on the top left hand side

TRY THE FOLLOWING

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING.

Open the back door and take out the passengers back seat.

Now how to do that? Right.

Just hold the bottom of the seat and shake it until it get off.

Put the bottom of the seat as far as you can on front seats.

You can't take it out because the seat belts are holding it.

Now take a screw driver and unscrew the screws that are holding the back side of back seats they are all located on the bottom (don't worry it's little hard but you can do it so keep it up)now try to pull the back of the seats and with a flashlight

try to see inside the trunk. On the right and left there are two back seat release pulling wires (NOTE:TWO RELEASE WIRES TO OPEN THE BACK OF THE BACK SEATS ONE ON LEFT FOR LEFT AND ONE ON RIGHT FOR RIGHT). Now try to reach one of them.

Ones you pull on it the back of the seat will be released now pull the other wire too, to release both sides.Ones they are down enter inside the trunk and fold the trunk carpet back now you can see the battery. With the car battery booster boost the battery (be careful the top one is Negative(-)and the bottom one close to you is positive(+) don't mix them if not it will catch fire try to see the +/- signs on the battery before plugging it ones buster plugged and power on the lights will be on now go to the driver seat and press the trunk release button it will open the trunk

In case it doesn't work try to start the car and keep pressing the trunk release button it will open it. Don't try to give a boost to the Jaguar S type fuse box located on the left of the engine under the front hood it can burn your electric system. (THE SAFE WAY TO DO THAT IS TO TAKE OFF THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE TIRE. IT'S LOCATED ON THE PASSENGER SEAT SIDE. ONCE IT'S OFF TRY TO LOCATE THE ALTERNATOR ON THE ALTERNATOR THERE WILL BE A PLACE LOOK LIKE A SCREW PUT THE NEGATIVE (-) BLACK WIRE TO THE METAL AND THE POSITIVE (+) RED WIRE OF THE BUSTER ON THE ALTERNATOR SCREW AND TURN IT ON IT SHOULD TURN THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM OF YOUR JAGUAR S TYPE (ON) )

Actually there are two fuel pumps on the S type 2000. There are located underneath the back seat.

You just open the trunk take a look at the two assemblies, click on each tab and take the assembly cover off each one. That will expose the bulb. With your hand, or gloves gently but firmly pull straight out.

Put the seat belt on!

The seat belt is part of the Supplementary Restraint System and works in conjunction with the air bags and all that junk. In a severe roll over, it will keep you in the vehicle and stop your body being thrown out and likely chopped in half when the wreck rolls on top of you!
