Jaguar S Type

My 2003 STR had that problem this summer on and off for a few days, and the manual simply says you should continue but plan on a service stop. A mechanic looked at it and told me it relates to the super-charger, and possibly the altitude/humidity of the air entering the engine. I was in the mountains (above 5,000 feet), the problem has not returned since, so maybe it's altitude.

The Jaguar XK120 can be ourchased form a variety of places. The cheapest prices can be found on the eBay motors and Autotrader websites. Independent Jaguar dealers may also sell them.

RH = Right Hand Indicator should say front or rear to help narrow it down.

Depends on the labor cost. Had my 2003 S Type R's recently done. Gaskets we $80 per side and labor to replace the gasket was 3.5 hours. Came to $440 overall job. Do not have the dealer do this work. @ $145 per hour, it doesn't take the dealership doing the work. Find a good mechanic and they should be able to clear the issue. Have this fixed ASAP so you can avoid further damage.

If your key will not open boot and you have access to the inside of the car, remove the four nuts on the 1/3 seat in the rear, found at the bottom of the back rest. Twist the hinge flaps forward and under the seat, you can now get a piece of wood or alike and pust it against the seat release. you can now remove the seat back. this will at least give you access to the battery to charge or replace. Ideal for anyone who has locked their keys in the boot.

It's the electronic hand-brake or parking brake lever.

Open the back door and take out the passengers back seat.

now how to do that?right.

just hold the bottom of the seat and shake it until it get off.

put the bottom of the seat as far as you can on front seats.

you can't take it out because the seat belts are holding it.

now take a screw driver and unscrew the screws that are holding the back side of back seats they are all located on the bottom (don't worry it's little hard but you can do it so keep it up)now try to pull the back of the seats and with a flashlight

try to see inside the trunk. On the right and left there are two back seat release pulling wires (NOTE:TWO RELEASE WIRES TO OPEN THE BACK OF THE BACK SEATS ONE ON LEFT FOR LEFT AND ONE ON RIGHT FOR RIGHT)now try to reach one of them.

Ones you pull on it the back of the seat will be released now pull the other wire too, to release both sides.Ones they are down enter inside the trunk and fold the trunk carpet back now you can see the battery. With the car battery buster bust the battery (be careful the top one is Negative(-)and the bottom one close to you is positive(+) don't mix them if not it will catch fire try to see the +/- signs on the battery before plugging it ones buster plugged and power on the lights will be on now go to the driver seat and press the trunk release button it will open the trunk

in case it doesn't work try to start the car and keep pressing the trunk release button it will open it.Don't try to give a bust to the Jaguar s type fuse box located on the left of the engine under the front hood it can burn your electric system.(THE SAFE WAY TO DO THAT IS TO TAKE OFF THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE TIRE. IT'S LOCATED ON THE PASSENGER SEAT SIDE.ONES IT'S OFF TRY TO LOCATE THE ALTERNATOR ON THE ALTERNATOR THERE WILL BE A PLACE LOOK LIKE A SCREW PUT THE (NEGATIVE (-)BLACK WIRE TO THE METAL AND THE (POSITIVE(+)RED WIRE OF THE BUSTER ON THE ALTERNATOR SCREW AND TURN IT ON IT SHOULD TURN THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM OF YOUR JAGUAR S TYPE (ON)

ask him that you want to talk to a mechanic and ask the mechanic all your questions (when you don't use your Jaguar for a while take off the battery negative(-)black wire and positive(+)red wire it will help you a lot.I hope it will help

I know you don't want to here this but it is recommended that you go to a Jaguar dealer to do that... I service my Jag on my own... I also have a friend who is a mechanic thaty helps me change the break pads and other stuff... However when it comes to bleeding the breaks, that's a job for the trained Jaguar expert.

Ok//////here goes......first remove plastic covering across top of radiator.....next remove left radiator bracket.....3 bolts.....remove hold down strap on ac canister....1 bolt...pull canister to left ....I tie it out of the way.....coolant control valve has five hose connections.....o ring disconnects on 3 leading to heater core/coolant tank..... one tee's into bottom of radiator hose....remove this radiator hose....by removing from top of radiator connection and connection to bottom of bleed cap....this has a support bracket ....which must be removed....now you should see recirculating pump on S type....remove two hold down bolts on recirc. pump...now for the hard part.....you will remove recirc. pump and heater valve at same time.....the hose connection from recirc. pump to heater valve will stay connected.....the heater valve has a bolt on left side at very bottom and a nut attachment on the right side....nut can just be loosened...bolt must be removed.....be sure to have a 10mm....standard socket, extended socket, open end, and box end.....1/4 drive....not much working room..and difficult to see attachment nut/bolt.....need a good flashlight/troublelight....remove electrical connection from recirc. pump and coolant valve.....after removing pump/attached valve..from car....disconnect pump from valve....remove solenoid heads....6 torx screws...now manually operate valves and back flush....were pump was attached...spray silcone spray into pump connection and hold upside down for a few seconds.....lubrication to prevent sticking....good time now to back flush radiator....heater core and coolant tank...all disconnections have been previously made to accomplish this....now put in reverse....and .....check all connections carefully....be patient....refill coolant system thru bleed cap....be sure to size Allen wrench carefully....to remove and tighten....fill coolant tank....crank car let warm slightly....remove bleed cap....top off and check coolant tank level....crank again...warm to operating temp...be sure to turn heat on to max.....while reaching operating temp...cut car off...turn key back on but do not start.....run heater max....until temp... is in blue or cool zone....this will take a few minutes....this will draw coolant from coolant tank...and aid in removing any air pockets...do not rush this....if temp. needle goes past normal operating temp....turn off asap and run another heater cycle cool down..do not drive car out on road until you are absolutely sure coolant temp. is normal for a few minutes..you should be able to add a full gallon of coolant plus .....this is a fully pressurized system....including coolant tank...never use a radiator stop leak....in this type of system..if your coolant tank is leaking....replace it....that's another story.....Good Luck and Happy Motoring.....Cecil

If you are talking about the outside temp sensor, it is near the horn on the drivers side front. I t has a probe sticking downwards. Clean the probe from mud and dirt and the sensor may work again, if not a new one is needed

It depends on the car year and the type of transmission in the car. If it is a ZF6 HP 20 series, ordinary ATF will kill it on the spot. You need and must use ZF Lifeguard 6 or similar, such as Q8 Auto 16 ED which is a full synthetic ATF designed for transmissions with clutch packs. Note: Amsoil DO NOT make, or sell an ATF (even their full synthetic ATF) suitable for ZF 6 HP 20 series gearboxes!

Check the anti-freeze canister for a hairline crack or have pressure tested. Common problem.

P1388 is VVT(Variable Valve Timing) over retarded-bank 2. Possible causes are VVT solenoid electrical or mechanical faults or possible actuator stuck or oil supply problem.

You can not add fluid to the Jaguar 2000 S-Type as it has a sealed transmission box. It must be taken into a mechanic to have the fluid changed.

Assuming you have an auto box double check the car is properly in park (the P will light up red) the switch can get sticky. Push the stick further forward than usual and move the stick left to right.

To fix a Jaguar S type heater, check the diverter mechanism. It shunts air through the heater core, which may not be operating properly.

to remove the radio from a s type jag you remove the hole consol which includes the climate controles and the draw or gps screen which ever is directly to the right of the radio, to do this use a flat point screw driver to pry the face of the climate controle off where you'll see two screws under it. pry the two little space fillers one to the left side of the radio and one to the right side of the draw or gps screen,you will see two more screws,after removing the 4 screws,pull the hole consol out,you'll find your way from there.good luck.

The CD player is in the trunk of the car... Well it more like a CD loader....Open the trunk and look to the left and will see a square panel that you can pull down. You will then see the CD Loader/Player.
