There are several flying creatures that can be seen in the movie, but 2 are the most prominent. The mountain banshee, or ikran in Na'vi, are seen often and are the creatures the Na'vi bond with and ride. The large red flying creature is a Great Leonopteryx, or toruk in Na'vi.

An average Na'vi male is about 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall. Females are a little shorter. The human-made avatars are roughly the same height. However, the avatars differ from Na'vi anatomy in another key sense-- they have 5 fingers/toes on each hand/foot, but the real Na'vi have only 4.
