Start with taking off the serpentine belt. The tension bult is on the front/passenger side of the engine compartment. Locate the top pulley and go down. Take a pic of how the belt is on, remove it and the you have access to the alternator belt. Loosen it's tension bolt and you're in buisness.

Had this issue a couple times and couldn't keep remembering so decided to answer since kia sucks and has no answers just problems. LOL ... All you do is: with the heater or A/C on push the AMB button and the down arrow to the thermostat at the same time for a few seconds. I have a 2003 Kia Optima and it works for mine.Anytime you disconnect battery source you will need to do this unless u wanna keep converting:) AMB and the OFF button will not work on this model. It will only turn off heat and a/c.

They are not that easy to match. A good site that has a chart is at Roadkillcustoms.com You type in your vehicle and it shows wheels that match. Make sure you check offset, center hole size etc. my Optima has 4x 114.3 lug pattern with 67.1 size hub. Check the junk yards . I go 4 rims for $100 (steel). I mount my winter tires separate.

The 2005 KIA Optima can use any automatic transmission fluid (ATF) with specification meeting at least SPII or SPIII. Valvoline's Multi-Vehicle-ATF and MaxLife DEX/MERC meets the KIA specification. The actual KIA factory fluid is part# UM010-CH002, in 1-quart bottles. Always check the rear of the bottle and or the ATF's product data sheet to verify current specifications.

That is not true, there are 2 belts, one to power alt-water pump and one to power ac-power steering. They are both serpentine belts. There is no Serpentine belt on a 2.4 liter optima, there are 3 drive belts only

This is one of the most frequent problems with the Optima model, not just one or two years but all year all engine size. You have one-two-three or four of a four problem set.

Your car has a canister located behind the rear drivers wheel called the EVAP canister. There are four hoses leading from that canister to:

1. The CCV or canister close valve. this valve allows for air pressure regulation within the close fuel evap system (filling your tank for example displaces air with fuel) and this valve is normally in the open position, but can get stuck closed. this is your number one suspect.

2. Back to the fuel tank, through a filter. This hose can get blocked from the charcoal releasing from the canister, or the two way valve can get stuck....

3. To the purge control valve. This can block also causing fuel to back up into the fill tube,

These three things, along with the evap canister itself, are your problem. It is a very easy fix with a jack, some jackstands and some metric sockets. There are no aftermarket for most of these parts, so i would search a site like carjunky to find some discounts.

the manual transmission oil (clutch fluid) is located next to the master cylinder (brake fluid resevior) near the driver side towards the back of the engine (looking at engine it would be in the upper right corner (smallest resevoir) it should be amber clear if good and at the fill line, if its discolored or at least 20,000 over its time to flush it, you can use a vacuum pump or even a turkey baster to suck the fluid out, but do not go below the minimum line, you can suck it out and fill a couple of times to help flush out the old and put in the new

Believe it or not I found it myself. After many different suggestions and several people swearing it was in the fuse box under the hood, I finally found one person who actually knew at the delarship. In the 2003 Kia Optima it is located in the dash behind the radio. Sounds crazy I know but that is where mine was. If you remove the trim panel around the radio, its located behind the ash tray (no need to actually pull the radio). There are two relays, the lower one is your fuel pump. The other is the main relay.

well it depends on the model of Kia, sideways or rear wheel drive, but generally TPS sensor is mounted on the throttle dody , some on the top , most on the side.

On my 02 Sedona. It is mounted on the back side of the throtle body. Mine went bad and I had to replace the complete throtle body unit. They do not sell only the sensor and it is a dealer only part but it is easy to install yourself if you are mechanicaly inclinded.
