Although it is a battery icon, what it really means 99 times out of 100 is that the battery is not being charged and although it could indicate a battery that is tired and due for renewal (I always get a new one every 3 years; 2 years if it's the original thing the car comes with) it usually indicates a fault with the alternator which has, more than likely, worn out. 2001 might still be under warranty I suppose.

I could be wrong, but I believe this vehicle uses a pressed in sealed bearing. If so, you remove the spindle from the vehicle, then use an arbor press to separate the hub, bearing and spindle, then to press them back together again.
Assuming that you haven't got such a press handy, just remove the spindle complete with bearing and hub and drop it off along with the new bearing at your local machine shop.

My wife has a 2006 Kia Optima and it took me a long time to figure this out. I called the dealer, to avoid bringing it in, and they were useless so I just took some time and stared at it and figured it out.
At the back of the headlamp, there is a small bolt (forgot the size, but it's a metric hex) to adjust the vertical alignment. The bolt is just to the inside of the upper (non-high-beam) light; at the back. Wratchet clearance is awkward but do-able.
I did not have to adjust the lateral alignment, but I am sure that bolt is further to the outside. Just in from the nose of the hood, on the top of the headlights, are some stampings to indicate where to look for the adjustments. You should see a set of arrows indicating vertical and another to show lateral.
