What does knives appear to be out mean?
I believe that you are quoting the use of something called a "knife cacophemism", the use of a violent metaphor. These knife metaphors have regularly been used in the British media, for example Daily Mail July 2nd 2001 front-page headline "Knives are out for Gordon Brown". The problem with knife cacophemisms is that many youngsters of the age of about 15/16 do not realise that they are metaphors, and may interpret such a phrase as a call to get knives out. This leads to "knife culture", which decent hard-working people are doing everything they can to stop. The Daily Mail newspaper printed "After a week to forget, the knives are out" on May 1st 2009, and the Associated Newspapers Ltd. newspaper group has used knife metaphors on well over 150 occasions during the analysis period of between July 2001 and June 2009. Another example of an alternative knife cacophemism is that used by the Sun newspaper on May 13th 2008. On that day their page 2 headline was "MPs queue up to knife Brown". That afternoon Stephen Bigby was murdered with a knife in Oxford Street, London. Despite - recently reported - a knife crime of some sort every 24 minutes in the UK - much of the media have continued to use knife cacophemisms such as "knives are out.." despite the evidence that they lead to bloodshed (due to literal misinterpretation, and also in the case of the seriously mentally disturbed who can take these kind of headlines as catalytic triggers to commit their crime).

How easy is it to get a knife?
dude you got some serious emo problems what kind of question is this? go to wallmart any grocery store im sure they have knifes there be carefull now
I have opted to leave the previous answer alone as it is a perfect indication of how much ignorance revolves around knives. You do not have emo problems simply because you want to know where to get knives at, so ignore his troll attempt. As for the question-good knives are a bit difficult to obtain as they usually are expensive and/or have to be ordered. With that being said-you can get cheap, poor quality knives at various stores such as Walmart, sears, etc.
people use knives for the wrong reason e.g. they stab someone else because they can not control their emotions.
Knives are sharp because they are used to cut things.
More information:
Well-sharpened knives are safer to use than dull knives, because they slice cleanly through food. Dull knives require more force and often slip or bounce instead of cutting as they should, making accidents more likely.
Is the akc concord otf knife a good knife?
I have had one of these in my collection for about fifteen years. AKC has been making these for a very long time, although some variations (snakeskin or briar patterned handle, briar wood handle) are quite new. The Concord is above average among otf knives. The action is solid and blade lock-up is above average. Owing to the fact that the Concord is entirely metal, with no plastic parts at all, this is one of the best automatic knives FOR THE MONEY that you can get. The only Italian otf that exceeds the Concord in quality is the 777 "Blackfinger." I just purchased a Harkins "Triton" model from Masters of Defense. The build quality exceeds the Concord, but that is to be expected from a knife costing about four times as much. However, the Triton is the only OTF knife I have owned - and one of only a handful of OTF knives available - that exceeds the quality of the Concord.
When was the first knife ever made?
Let's see. In the evolution of the genus Homo (as in Homo Erectus, Homo Neandertalensis, and Homo Sapiens), the upright individual would have had his hands free AND his brain sufficiently developed around 50,000 to 100,000 years ago, for this kind of development to have occurred. But that's still conjecture, just a guess.
Why are carbon-steel knives not used nowadays?
Stain resistant steel knives are easier to maintain for average knife user. Main complaints about carbon(non-stainless) steel knives is that they can leave a metallic taste in your mouth and are unsanitary. Also they rust and corrode.
Carbon steel knives are widely used in Japan and Western world. They are not in mainstream kitchen cutlery, but high end knives are a different story. Besides, there are plenty of carbon steel knives outside of the kitchen cutlery, including folders and fixed blades.
A knife will be as "unsanitary" as the owner allows it. Properly washing and drying knives after their use will prevent rust and corrosion.
Stainless cutlery steel, despite its name also rusts and corrodes, just at a slower rate. Although, using dishwasher for stainless knives accelerates the rust considerably. That is one of the reasons why nowadays cutlery manufacturers slowly are replacing the term stainless with more conservative stain-resistant.
High end Japanese kitchen cutlery is using carbon steel knives very widely. The most expensive and best knives, from the best makers are carbon steel knives, e.g. Aogami 1, Aogami 2, Aogami Super, Shirogami series, etc.
The Shove Knife- You only need one because it does the job of three! This shove knife is the fastest, damage free means of opening residential, office interior doors with key in the knob locks. Used extensively in fire towers to slip spring latch locks.
The design makes the knife work from either side of the door. If the door opens inward, you shove the knife in back of the molding stop and retract the latch. For doors that open towards you, the knife is slipped in from above or below the latch point and jiggled and pulled to retract the latch. A protective sleeve is added when not in use.

What type of knives were used in World War 1?
The Trench Knife was created in WWI for the specific needs encountered at close quarters. A rifle with attached bayonet is of little value once the attacker is actually inside the enemies trenches. This environment is better suited to a meat cleaver, a short club or a handgun. The studded brass knuckle US Mark I Model 1918 was designed for use in the trenches and is often seen in the movies, but it failed to get to the troops before the Armistice. The actual blade used was called knuckle duster, and it was a wooden handeled stiletto with a rolled steel handguard, the U.S. M1917. The UK's trench knife was also a classic double edged stiletto, but it lacked a handguard. This was the F-S Fighting Knife which was called the commando knife in WWII and is still in use by the Royal Marines.
What is the name of the large double edged broadsword used by Scottish highlanders?
CLAYMORE. Claidheamh means sword (cf. Latin gladius) and mor means big.
Who will play will in the subtle knife movie?
I would probably say Josh Hutcherson would do great in it, but I'm not sure. I've heard that they will have auditions sometime in October. Josh Hutcherson could look a little older than 12, but I don't think that really matters. He did great in Bridge to Terabithia.
There will be no subtle knife film.

"A Spring Assisted knife requires help from the user to get them opened. Typically the user pushes a small trigger, or a button, to get the knife about 20 to 30 percent open, at which point an internal spring takes over and opens the knife the rest of the way."
