If you're asking about a Kubota utility tractor, the fuel tank is above the filter assembly and the fuel will gravity feed through the filter when the ring nut is loose and of course you open the shutoff valve. Once the filter housing fills up (and you spill a little diesel), close the ring and then crank on the engine until the fuel gets into the pump. It should crank in less than 30 seconds with the fuel control set at half-throttle or higher. This info is based on experience for a Kubota M4700 tractor.

The thermostat is generally located near the top of the engine where the radiator hose connects. It is located behind the housing that is held on by a couple bolts.

Briggs & Stratton oil filter 842921 has been replaced with number 491056. Fram PH3614 is the match.

Update: According to the FRAM website, the match for 842921 is PH8170 as of 6/15/10.

You cannot legally drive a Kubota RTV on any public roads. Whether it's the interstate, highway, backroad, etc.

If you are unsure if it is heating because of a water pump or a thermstat, you can find out by removing the thermostat. If it still heats without a thermostat, then you know it is the water pump. Without a thermostat, the water flow has nothing to cause it to heat unless the water pump fails to circulate the water. No circulation of the water would cause the over heating.
