Is Erie Pennsylvania a racist city?

No.

Erie, PA is a growing community of diverse cultures. From Girard spanning to the Millcreek district there is a steady blend of colors and races from many parts of the world. This question rings with ignorance, being that "a racist city" could denote "whites vs. blacks" isolated into separate areas. Perhaps that's how some cities are, but it's all in perspective. Relatively speaking, I've had racist comments made about me in Erie when African-American customers were unhappy or frustrated, and they would then lash out with phrases about me being, "skinny little white city boy" or something of that nature. But a few racists who refuse to associate with whites won't make me label the city.

Erie is diverse, many African-Americans live in the downtown areas spanning out of the district and into North East. Again, racism is all in perspective, and perhaps there are racist people living in every city.

Those who dwell on skin color or ethnic origin and let that hinder their community, are not promoting peace.
