Leather can be pressed, with great care. You have to carefully judge the amount of heat you need, and I would suggest using a pressing cloth. You probably will not be able to get out any folds that have "set" in the fabric. I once put a leather coat outside in the hot sun, with a pile of books on top of it, and it actually did work. Your best bet would be to take it to a professional leather restorer

The leather strap is held to the watch case by a metal shaft with a pin at each end. The pins fit into holes in the case. If you look closely at the side of the case you will usually see a tiny hole. You can push the pin through this hole to compress it, and the shaft will pop out. One warning -- once the pin is out of the case, it's easy to lose. I suggest working over a tray or a large sheet of paper. If you bought a new strap, the salesperson will usually change the strap for you. You can also take it to a jeweler.

I know for sure that putting clay cat litter on the pavers will absorb a lot of the oil, but you will still have stains on them. I think that muratic acid might get the rest of it up. I know my grandparents use to use it to clean the floors of the garage. Keep this in mind though. Muratic acid 'etches' surface of concrete. If you put the muratic acid on some of the pavers, but not all of them, it might change the intensity of color of those pavers. I don't know this for sure though.

I considered acid but was afraid that it might harm my dog. I found a new green product called Oil Gone Easy S-200 which eliminated my stain in about a week without the use of toxic chemicals. Very good results.

THIS WORKS A TREAT!

I have porous brick pavers which were badly stained with oil from the car. Mix Sodium Bicarbonate (common bi-carb of soda) with a good splotch of dishwashing detergent (I used Earth Choice, an Australian brand, environmentally friendly from the supermarket) and a small quantity of hot water. After scrubbing it in really well and leaving it maybe 10 minutes to soak in, I rinsed it off with a couple buckets of hot water and it looks GREAT! After having tried engine degreaser with little effect, I'm delighted that this is so environmentally friendly too!

Durahide is a synthetic material. It is a cloth backed vinyl that is soft, durable, similar to leather, and often used of furniture.

"Regenerated leather" is made by grinding up scraps of waste leather with a small amount of natural rubber.

the K stands for Kodensha. The Kodensha plant was in Tochigi,Japan.

The serial number indicates it was made in the early or mid 80's. Records were sketchy at the best and now the records are almost impossible to retrieve.

It's value? If you are interested in selling it, i would offer $1,500, perhaps more. Many times i hear of guns in "Mint" condition that are not quite there. It only takes a little wear to lower the price. Truly MINT, with the original box and documents can bring $4K to $5K depending on the wood, engraving and etc., however, i am not a buyer at those prices... i am saving my money for a satellite dish.

OK A NEW BALL BOUNCES HIGHER BECAUSE A NEW BALL IS NEW AND DOES NOT HAVE WORN OUT SIDES SO THATS WHY. It may be neither the new ball nor the old ball. It could be the ball that is properly inflated. An older ball may in fact be more supple (more elastic) than a newer one. If the height of the bounce is important, then the answer to the question must come from testing and observation.

The properties of fake leather includes the fact that it feels and smells like plastic. Fake leather looks cheaper than real leather and might have pores printed onto it. Fake leather also tears quite easily.

The easiest (read: least harmful) way to stretch leather, as I understand it, is to continuously wear it. Failing that, putting it on a form is pretty useful. However, if the item of leather clothing you want to stretch is a couple of sizes too small, it's best not to wear it - Leather, like all animal-skin materials, can display signs of stretching or even tear if overtaxed; the chances that you'd cause stretch marks or tearing in your leather garment if it's too small for you are pretty significant. If your item of clothing is, say half a size too small for you and you want to stretch it out, the best way is to wear it until it stretches. Failing that, get a form on which the leather can be stretched out - You can find forms for hats and shoes.

Another way of stretching leather is to expose it to steam to moisten it, and then wear it so that it dries into its new shape. Don't steam the leather too much, or it will lose its form and instead of one uniformly-finished piece of clothing, you'll get splotches, loose or torn spots, bumps, all kinds of things that will ruin the piece. For the same reason, you shouldn't expose the item directly to water - If the leather is forced to soak up too much, it'll swell and look horrible. Other than wearing it, try steaming the article of clothing while you're taking a shower (NO MORE THAN 15 MINUTES!) and wear it afterwards. Remember, leather is just animal skin, and just like yours or mine, it can tear, swell, stretch, get bulgy or shiny, and generally look ugly if certain things are done to it. Also, stay away from exposing your leather to rubbing alcohol. Just like on skin, rubbing alcohol dries the leather, and can cause cracking.
