Why illegal download?

Why is it illegal download?

Because whatever your downloading is copyrighted, so if you pay for it or not paying for it, it's still illegal.

Paying for it is worst because not only your downloading copyrighten files your purchasing them, witch is distribution and breaking the copyright law.

Limewire

Limewire is full of copyrighten files that are uploaded by user's.

For example.

Downloading the following:

Music

Films

Games

are copyrighten onto a blank CD from the original CD and user's who do this host's into onto a peer-peer website where they share it with thousands of people.

That's copyright. If your the one downloading these files, just be aware of these files have been copied from the original disc to a blank disk. Witch that makes this highly illegal.

In other words, basically someone who purchases a DVD from a shop, plays it on their computer and gets a crack code to unlock the copyright code on the DVD. Then a makes a copy of all the files written on the disc and transfers to their machine witch they upload it to their account with bittorrent.

And that's how you can download your files. The one's your downloading have been ripped and converted from the original disc by another user.

That's why it's illegal.

Just becareful if your downloading.

How can you download music from LimeWire onto your Phillips GoGear mp3 player instead of itunes?

I had a Philips mp3 player before and If I'm correct, it should work if you go on limewire, right click the file and say "view file location" and it will open the folder where the file is located. Then you should have your mp3 player plugged in and send the file to your mp3 player. I have an ipod now so it's been a while, I'm not sure if it will work but try it.

You download songs from limewire to listen to on your computeris it legal?

yes. It is illegal because it is considered theft. Because you are unlawfully, getting a free copy of a song that cost someone else around .99 cents. Every song downloaded could cost you 750$-30,000$ PER TUNE! here is a story of a Minnisota woman who now owes 1.92 MILLION DOLLARS, for illegally downloading 24 songs...yes i said 24 hope this helped The $1.92 million verdict against a Minnesota woman accused of sharing 24 songs over the Internet could ratchet up the pressure on other defendants to settle with the recording industry _ if the big fine can withstand an appeal. "Normally in our American legal system, we say the punishment should fit the crime," said Ken Port, director of the Intellectual Property Institute at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul. "Now she's being ordered to pay, in some ways, an incomprehensible amount of damages." Port has closely watched the recording industry's case against Jammie Thomas-Rasset, 32, of Brainerd and wrote a brief that helped persuade the judge in her first trial in 2007 to grant her the retrial that ended Thursday.

In the latest trial, a federal jury in Minneapolis ruled that she must pay $1.92 million for willful infringement of the recording industry's copyrights by posting the music on the file-sharing site Kazaa. Under federal law, the recording companies are entitled to $750 to $30,000 per infringement but the law allows the jury to raise that to as much as $150,000 per track if it finds the infringements were willful. The jury decided on $80,000 per song. "They now have a verdict they can use in other cases around America," Port said of the recording industry. "The prices that they will charge for settling is going to go up." Thomas-Rasset was the first _ and so far only _ music file-sharing defendant to go to trial. The music industry has threatened about 35,000 people with charges of copyright infringement over the past five years, typically offering to settle the cases for $3,000 to $5,000. The recording industry estimates that a few hundred of those cases remain unresolved, with fewer than 10 defendants actively fighting them

If a video is downloaded from limewire and deleted is it still on your computer?

Yes. Anything you put on your computer isn't really gone if you delete it- it just doesn't appear in the system registry (this fact often helps the FBI build cases against criminals like pedophiles).

The only way to really protect yourself is to format the hard drive, get a good registry cleaning program, or one that 'shreds' (deliberately corrupts) deleted files so that they're impossible to identify.

If I were you, I would also make sure that you disable uploading from your machine- that limits the amount of damage you can be held liable for because you never shared with anyone else.
