Why are mac folder icons moving randomly?
If folders are moving on the Desktop it is probably because the View settings are set to keep them ordered in a particular way. For example if they are ordered by Date Created (or Modified) then when you add a new file or folder to the desktop the others will be moved to make way for it. This can be changed from the Finder's View menu Show View Options.
Similarly in an individual Finder window right click on some blank space and select the Arrange By option to specify how you want your files and folders ordered.

There is no "Registry" on the Mac. There are only a few places you need to delete applications fully if they don't have their own uninstaller.
There are some commercial and free uninstaller applications if you search around the net. But DO look to make sure you know what they are deleting for you, their not perfect, some good some not as good.
Delete the application from the Application folder.
In this next area be careful when you delete these, as some software company's put ALL their support files form all of their different applications into the same folder some times. So if you have a couple of games or applications from thesame company and you want to delete one of them then look inside that folder to make sure BOTH applications aren't in there. You can just delete the one you want.
Your HD/ Users folder/ "Your Name"folder (active home folder, the icon that looks like a house with your name under it)/ Library/ Application Support/ look for the name of the application you want to delete and delete that folder only (look inside first).
Also look in the Library/ Preferences folder while your there and delete the named file/folder of the application your deleting. (look inside first)
Tho these usually are only a few kb in size, "Spore" for one, stores some core game files there, 1.4Gigs worth!

There are a couple ways in which you can run Apple's operating system on top of Linux.
1. Emulation.
If you wish to run an older version of the Mac operating system, such as OS 9 or lower, this is your only option. There are several emulators for Linux that will emulate the necessary hardware.
A. Mini vMac
This is useful for 68k (Motorola 6800- 68040) Mac emulation. You can run up to System 7.5.5 on this. Unfortunately, the sound does not work in the Linux port.
B. Basilisk II
This will run 68k systems up to Mac OS 8.1.
C. SheepShaver.
This will run PowerPC systems up to Mac OS 9.0.4
D. PearPC
This will run PowerPC versions of OS X. I've had an extremely difficult time getting this one to work properly. Performance is also generally pretty bad, so I wouldn't use it for anything important.
2. Virtualization
Virtualization is the process of running code directly, instead of having to emulate it.
A. Mac-on-Linux
This is useful if you have a computer with a PowerPC processor (such as an older Mac, or a PlayStation 3). I have not personally tried this, since I do not have a PowerPC computer. I believe it will require you to know how to compile your own kernel modules.
B. VMWare / VirtualBox
These are x86 virtualization suites. VirtualBox is available free of charge. VMWare is a commercial product; the "workstation" is a paid product, while the "Player" is available for free. They only present generic hardware to the guest operating system, so an unmodified copy of OS X will not work. you will have to obtain (illegally) a modified copy of OS X that is patched to accept generic hardware.

How do you get rid of a green cast while using HDMI output on mac os?
A green cast is usually attributable to the cable/adapter connections. Sometimes just restarting everything and reconnecting the cables is enough to clear any problems. Does the Mac have an HDMI port or is it connected via the Mini Display Port/HDMI adapter?
