This actually happened in the 1930s, but still... This is one of my favorite cosmetics horror stories. Not because it's a nice light fun story--in fact, it's one of the most horrible things you'll ever read--but because when someone comes up on line and says there is never a reason to test makeup on animals, you can pull this out and say, "yeah, there really is." Lash-Lure was a form of mascara--supposedly, it was a PERMANENT form of mascara. The active ingredient was paraphenylenediamine, a black aniline dyestuff. Aniline dyes were invented for dyeing cloth, and they're extremely permanent. They're also extremely toxic--so toxic you and I can't buy them. If a paraphenylenediamine dye gets in your eyes, you have to flush it with water for 20 minutes or so and see the doctor. Well...if you've ever worn mascara you've gotten some in your eyes, right? It's completely unavoidable. You ARE going to flick a little in your eye from the brush, or you'll actually touch the brush to your eye. When this happens with a chemical as potent as paraphenylenediamine, the product literally dissolves your eye. A lot of women lost their eyesight to infection or to the chemical, and some actually died from it--and apparently this is the most excruciating pain you will ever know. The big problem wasn't just that you had a mascara that could dissolve your eyes, but that the federal government had no authority to regulate cosmetic preparations. The theory was that all cosmetics were safe, right? (Google "aqua tofana" and "arsenic face powder" to see where THAT idea gets you...) After the FDA constructed a "chamber of horrors" containing photos of Lash-Lure victims, Congress added cosmetics to the Pure Food and Drug Act...and the first thing the government did was to take Lash-Lure off the market. Now we've got an All New permanent mascara, but this time it's a drug called Latisse. Who knows what's gonna happen this time?

iv been using Revlon color stay makeup with soft flex. normal/ dry skin 250 fresh beige.....all this does it make my eyes look gray what should i use to make it look like my regular skin???

I think dark brown eyeliner and mascara with a one shade darker than your skin colour shimmery eye shadow and lip gloss would look nice.

Well you don't want to go overboard because it will annoy older kids who've waited a while to wear as much makeup as they do.

A list of suitable suitable for your age would include:

- A light, powder foundation

- A light blush (you're still quite young, maybe only on special occassions and picture day)

- Mascara (either clear or basic black)

- Light pencil eyeline (again maybe only on special occassions and stick to neutral colours black, brown, grey etc.)

- Lipgloss

Stear clear of these:

- Eyeshadow (it will make you look to cakey and will probably scare the guys your age)

- Liquid eyeliner (it is very hard to control and comes out quite strongly)

- Lipstick and lipliner (these will make you look fake, besides your lips most likely havent fully formed yet so you probably don't want to draw all the attention to them)

-Eyebrow pencils

-False eyelashes

- And any really dark, heavy or excessive makeup

Finger nails: its fine to wear nail polish on your finger nails. Dont keep it on for a long period of time because your nails will yellow ( which is NOT a pretty sight )

Try using nail hardeners by Sally Hansen. They worked for me and my nails are now LONG!!!

Toe Nails: Toe are fine to paint. There actually easier to paint then finger nails. Once again you can use nail hardeners and that will make them stronger but remember to take it off in a couple of weeks so your toe nails wont turn YELLOW!

mix rubbing alcohol with baby powder and add what ever pigment you want let it dry and you have a pressed eyeshadow if you don't want pressed eyeshadow don't add rubbing alcohol and remember that the lower the percent the longer it will take to dry.
