What was the need to develop negative numbers?
I'm not sure of the original need, but here are some examples of how they are used, today.
Well, the simplest example is debt. If you're keeping track of your finances, running a total of expenses and income, and tracking what your balance is at all times, it's helpful to be able to continue using the same system when your balance drops below zero.
Anything that has a scale, which has a zero reference point, and it is possible to move into 'negative territory', such as temperature, or altitude (above or below sea level). See related link.

How do you show an illustration of the number 6?
Use the character before the question mark in your question.
What does within which the circle was circumscribed mean?
There is a contradiction in the question.
A circumscribed circle is the smallest circle that will contain the shape in question. For example, the circumcircle (circumscribing circle) of a triangle is the smallest one which will contain the triangle. However, the question refers to "within which the circle" which would imply an inscribed circle. This is the biggest circle that can be wholly enclosed within the shape in question.
The two are obviously not the same and the question needs to be clear as to which one of the two is intended.
Which word defines the measurement of the distance around a figure?
The perimeter of a shape is the distance around it. The perimeter of a circle is called its circumference. Circumference can be calculated by 2 x pi x the circle's radius.

Hot to remove the negative numbers from a given set of numbers in excel?
It depends on what you mean by 'remove'. If you just want the numbers to appear there, but not able for anyone to see them, then you could create a conditional formula where any number that is negative would be the color white. If you wanted to Zero out any numbers that are negative, then you would make an if/then statement (conditional), like: =IFcell#(<=0,0,*) Which basically says that if cell # is less than or equal to 0, then that cell will show 0, if not, it will remain the positive number that it should be. Im not sure if this will help....I would need a little bit more of an explination of what you were trying to do. Hope it helps a little.
