What is the disadvantage of without preheating in welding?
Preheating can assist the welding penetration on materials with high thermal conductivity such as thick aluminum sections or even some steels. This reduces the heat sink affect (rapid cooling) of the deposited weld by the surrounding cold metal. Preheating also significantly reduces the rapid cooldown of the item post welding. Contrary to many beliefs, it is difficult if not impossible to overheat metals but many metals (such as carbon steels) can become brittle if cooled rapidly. They can also lock in post weld stresses that can compromise the engineering qualities expected. Preheating builds up heat in the metal and it takes longer for it to cool. In affect, preheating is also a portion of the postheating formula. In most welding code applications, carbon steels and some other metals require preheating prior to welding to be in compliance.

Which steel is expensive hot rolled or cold rolled?
It takes much more energy to roll a sheet of metal in cold rolling than it does for hot rolling. Heating up a sheet of metal makes the material more malleable, so when it is rolled between two rollers, it can form into a flat sheet much easier. A cold sheet of metal that is not heated up will be put through the rollers and have a higher amount of energy needed to push it through. Though there is less heating required, this is balanced out by the fact that it must be pushed through with more energy.The cold rolling process is an expensive one, especially compared to the process of hot rolling sheet metal. For example, since cold rolling requires that workers frequently clean parts like the rollers, cold rolling has extra costs for any supplies needed to clean the parts, downtime while the parts are being cleaned and labor costs for the worker who does the cleaning. Also, the additional energy needed in the cold rolling process adds cost to the final product.

How does multi-stage steam jet air ejector works?
A steam ejector is a pump-like device, with no moving parts or pistons, that utilizes high-pressure steam to compress vapours or gases. This creates a vacuum in any vessel or chamber connected to the suction inlet of the ejector
The adjacent diagram depicts a typical modern ejector. It consists of a motive fluid inlet nozzle and a converging-diverging outlet nozzle. In this case of a steam ejector, the motive fluid is high-pressure steam. The Venturi effect, a particular case of Bernoulli's principle, applies to the operation of this device. The high-pressure steam is converted into a high-velocity jet at the throat of the convergent-divergent nozzle which creates a low pressure at that point. The low pressure draws the suction fluid (a vapour or gas in this case) into the convergent-divergent nozzle where it mixes with the high-pressure steam. In essence, the pressure energy of the inlet steam is converted to kinetic energy in the form of velocity head at the throat of the convergent-divergent nozzle. What makes a car aerodynamics?
Aerodynamics is related to the shape of the car to reduce air resistance and drag. Aeroplanes are kept clean and polished for the same reason - to reduce the friction caused by the air resistance.
The drawings and work instruction and the safety handouts are obtained from my instructor. Technical manuals and kept in the tools store. The reference tables/chart is in the workshop or in the library.
