How does a retractable spring mechanism work?
There's a flat torsion spring fixed on both the outter wall of a spinning disk or whatever the part that is turning is. The center of the spring is then fixed on a stationary point. When the disk turns the spring is put under tension and when released will go back to its original starting position.
What is the difference between contra flow and parallel flow?
These terms are usually used in conjuction with fluid-fluid heat exchangers. In both cases, the two fluids in the exchanger are moving in parallel flowpaths with each other. In contraflow, the fluids move in opposite directions along those paths, so the two inlets are on opposite ends of the exchanger. In parallel flow, the fluids move in the same direction, so the inlets are on the same end.
Assuming the motor runs at about 3000 RPM, The speed must be reduced by factor of about 200 for 15RPM.
Two sets of pulleys or gears would be best. Gears with a chain would not be good due to the high motor speed.
You could get 180:1 by putting a 2" pully on the motor, and running a belt to a 30" pulley which is on a shaft along with another 2" pulley, and run that pulley to another 24" pulley.
If the barrel is well-mounted and freely turns, you could use it as the second pulley, since it has a 24" approximate diameter.
You can also use three sets of pulleys, making it esier to find them.
example:
2" motor to 12" on shaft 1
2" on shaft 1 to 12" on shaft 2
2" on shaft 2 to a 10" or 12" one driving the barrel.
Consider buying a used worm gear reduction drive to save alot of this trouble. The motor can drive it directly and they come in different ratios.
one rotor blade and one stator blade make up a stage of the turbine.
after crossing every stage the pressure of the steam reduces.
Why cp and cv have different values?
Cv is a for a constant volume, and there is therefore no work done in the expansion whereas as Cp accounts for the work done by the gas during its expansion, as well as the change in its internal energy. Thusly Cp is generally bigger than Cv.
Intuitively this would be very simple to work out yourself. We used to have to work this out ourselves back in my day, not just resort to cheap answers on the interweb.
Distinguish between the magnetic properties of iron and steel?
The magnetic properties of iron are high susceptibility and low retentivity. It means that it is easier to magnetize but also loses magnetism easily. The properties of steel are the opposite of iron.
What is intermediate pressure turbine?
Some varieties of gas turbine engines (e.g. RR Trent and RB211) have 3 concentric rotating shafts. Each shaft connects a compressor with a turbine. The low pressure compressor, or fan, is driven by the low pressure turbine. The high pressure compressor is driven by the high pressure turbine. Between the low and high pressure compressors there is an intermediate pressure compressor and, guess what... it's driven by the intermediate pressure turbine.
Compare Brayton and Otto cycle?
The heat addition and rejection processes in otto cycle are of constant volume, whereas in brayton cycle, they are of constant pressure.
Why does a blacksmith hammer a hot piece of iron while making a tool?
To shape metal you must hit it when it's hot. The colder iron, the less easily you can shape it. In addition, it can break if it's not hot. When iron is heated sufficiently, it becomes plastic, and it can be deformed without breaking. It can be worked easily and effectively by a smith when it's hot.
What is the difference between extract fan and exhaust fan?
Extract puuls the air ,exhaust push the air
Difference between bilateral and unilateral tolerance?
Unilateral Tolerance :- A tolerancing method using a deviation in only one direction, either plus or minus, from the specified dimension Bilateral Tolerance :- A tolerance method using an equal plus and minus deviation from the specified dimension.
What is the difference between machine and equipment?
Machines are devices that need a person's attention when operating.
Equipment are devices that do not need this attention.
Examples: a refrigerator is equipment, a steel cutter is machine, a stove is equipment, a computer or a fax are machines; we call it anyway, "fax machine". Your car is machine/you operate it; your house, though, is "equipped with A/C and fan" because you do not pay attention to them when operating. The water heater is equipment. The pressure washer is machine, the air-compressor is equipment.
The acronym OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer. Original design manufacturer stands for the acronym ODM. These are terms that refer to different types of manufacturing companies.
What are the safety precautions for using a cooker?
the gas that is emitted from a cooker is poisonous, if it leaks out and the cooker has not ignited, it could potentially kill you, also "obviously" gas is extremely flammable.
W - stands for Weldable
P - stands for made from Pipe
B - stands for Grade B
TEMPSENS WAKE FREQUENCY CALCULATOR is easy to use and it also ensures that thermowell is designed within the dimensional limits of PTC19.3, 2010. This calculator establishes the practical design considerations for Thermowell installations in power and process piping, which also incorporates the latest theory in the areas of natural frequency, Strouhal frequency, in-line resonance and stress evaluation.
If the application is fulfilling all limits of the ASMT PTC 19.3, it means the Thermowell met 5 criteria:
What are the uses of robots in the car industry?
Robots are currently used within the car industry in a lot of places to assemble cars and are gradually replacing humans within the field.
By discharging a predetermined rate of flow and GPM using either a piston assembly or diaphragm
How do you calculate multiplying factor from ct ratio?
The CT standard output is 5 amps at the rated input amps. The CT will have a marking like 400:5, 100:5, or similar, where the bigger number is the input current that will cause 5 amps to flow in the CT secondary. Divide the span by 5 to get the multiplier. For instance: CT - 400:5 400 / 5 = 80 So, if you measure, say, 3 amps from the CT, the primary current is: 3 * 80 = 240 A
