Well, tough question. The answer is yes and no, or sort of. Sometimes they just happen, some people are more prone to them. Sometimes hormone treatments like the pill can cause you to get them more frequently or less. Some people have more when they are first getting there periods and they are fewer as they age. Once you have one there is no real cure, usually they burst on their own and in some cases a doctor may intervene if it is too large a cyst to be safely left alone and most of the time they are reabsorbed without bursting and you might not even have known it was there. same ere it happened to me as well I got stringy pink blood in my discharge but the confusing thing is 2 weeks after I got my period which didn't have no cramps or nothing. now my periods have gone in the own patterns day 35 from the first day i came on then next month i come on 32 then next month be 29 just take 3 away from the number every month I had Implantation bleeding on the 2nd May so I has any1 had Implantation bleeding then a period a week or 2 after i still been pregnant? has any1 been through this?

Not necessarily. I have had periods that were very light that lasted the same amount of days as heavier periods, during a time when I was pretty regular (I have many irregular periods as well). However, I am currently experiencing an abnormally long period which is also light, but not the lightest I've ever had. I think I am currently on the 17th day, but I didn't keep track at first until I realized how unusual it was.
While I'm not a doctor, - which you may want to see if you are experiencing distressing symptoms, such as pain, as irregular periods can be a symptom of many things (which I have been looking up on) - It could just be hormonal imbalance which is normal and common. It could also be something else, but since I don't know your situation I can't really say. I hope this helps though.
