The 99 600S is the 140 Mercedes chassis.

I have not worked on the 12 cylinder (which is the 600), but am familiar with the 500 (8 cylinder). You won't like the answer. The light is not serviceable.

On the two 500S I am familiar with, the light is not reparable without dismantling the entire odometer and ambient temperature module. Mercedes sells the modules as a unit and completely sealed and not serviceable, for a very expensive price. However, there are companies which do sell refurbished units, and while a fraction of the Mercedes retail price, they are still hundreds of times more expensive than the light itself. Check the MBUSA owners club magazine - The Star - for some possible suppliers for rebuilt modules.

Unfortunately for us new Benz owners Mercedes decided to omit the dipstick. The tube itself is there but its only got a cover and nothing in it. You can look on eBay or you can order it through the dealership. The latter being the pricier option but you get the right part. I ordered mine through eBay and was sent the wrong one! (it was too long).

If your getting a ABS malfunction, "drive to workshop" you definitely need to take the car in, if the ABS light is on, this means that the ABS (anti-lock braking system) is not in operation. There should be some codes that a dealer could pull out, but I would not ignore this issue. However, the S-Class Mercedes from 92 to 99 (140 chassis) has a computer that if it senses a short, or grounding problem, can turn on the ABS check light as well as the Engine or OBD (On Board Diagnosis) check engine light. If this is the case, you can stop the car, turn off the engine, and restart the engine. If it is an intermittent fault code, the light will go out - at least for a while. However, if it is an ABS failure, the light will come back on immediately when you turn the key and not go out when the engine starts.

You have to use the key that is built into the remote. The key fits in, then you push the key in like a button, that will cause the trunk to open. Because the trunk is automatic open and close, it will be quite stiff opening it up. Don't worry it will not harm the trunk.

there is also a cruise control wand immediately behind the steering wheel at approximately the 10'o'clock position. You can control the cruise control with this stalk. Pushing it forward while you are at a steady speed will lock the speed in. Pushing the stalk forward will disengage CC. Pushing it down will slowly reduce the speed. Pulling it back will slowly raise the speed.

But touching the brake should always completely disengage the system.

The Mercedes C class is a car that you can use everyday, because its small, powerful with a V6, and luxury. Varying whether you get the C300, which comes with standard RWD or optional 4-matic. In the C300, you will not get a standard navigation or multimedia package, you will get (standard) driver and passenger heated seats, Bluetooth, climate control, sunroof, and disk changer. But in the C350 you will get all of these options plus a more powerful engine, navigation system, and special designed rims. You can also purchase the c63 amg, which comes with all of the features in the 350 + better rims, a V8, RWD, and a panorama roof.

The Mercedes E Class, is better in terms of luxury and performance. Its basically a C350 Saloon with extra packages and more performance and luxury. But the E class is not a everyday car.

The Mercedes S Class is the most luxurious and the best performer, coming with an standard v8 or an optional v12 or v6 hybrid engine. In the S- class you will get all of the options that you would normally get from the e550. More luxury. But the S class is for busness use, and is not a normal everyday car. It depends on you, would you want to drive a powerful car around on busy streets risking getting your $90,000 car scraped?

Although the "350" model name indicates a 3.5L engine, only the E350 is a 3.5L. The S350 is a 3.7L V6. Why would the larger engine have 27 fewer horsepower than the smaller? The 3.7L is tuned for refinement and more low end torque -- a better match for the S-class.

I am having the same problem with my car. It cranks like it want to start but dont start. i have changed the fuel pressure regulator and still doing the same thing. fuel pump and fuses are good. I have a little bit of spart. I had some wires that was burned out i replace them and still having the same problem. please help

97 S class model is 8 liters with full transmission oil change. you need to take out the oil from the gearbox and the carborator.

It should be just like any other vehical .. You will have a high an low side on your a/c Manafold ( basically two nipples high side and low side coming off of the Manafold ) they both will be different sizes and they should have black dust covers on em ... You needa take em off .. you needa make a trip to your local parts store and pick up a freon kit .. And the hose on the kit it will have a fitting that will ONLY fit over the low side of the a/c Manafold ( never hook up to the high side ) then follow the directions on the freon can and pay attention to your pressure it should be anywhere from 25 - 55 psi depending on the temp. Its been awhile since I've done them. (i have a 2000 s 500) but if you have any knowledge on how to change brakes you won't have any problem. these are probably the easiest pads i have ever replaced.
