Where is the pcv valve on a Mercury Villager and how do you get it out?

PCV Valve!

The PCV Valve is located right beside the EGR valve (located in behind but attached to the intake manifold) and has a thick black tube connected to it, when that tube is removed, it will expose the PCV valve from there, you will have to unscrew it and replace it, then re connect the hose and start it up! Trust me it sounds a lot easier than it really is! It takes almost 90 mins to reinstall! I am not sure it will work on all Villagers!

On a 2000 Villager, the PCV valve is pressed into a rubber grommet on a 90 degree tube extension from the rear valve cover, which is then connected by a black hose to a nipple extension on the upper rear intake manifold. The way to remove it is to unbolt the bracket attached to the intake manifold holding the accelerator cable, using 'right angled' pliers to open, then push the hose clamp back from the end of the hose attached to the intake manifold, then using the angled end of a brake shoe adjusting tool to push off the hose from the nipple on the rear upper intake manifold, being careful not to break off this nipple (the upper intake manifold is molded plastic and the nipple is part of the manifold). Once this end of the hose is loose, then the PCV valve with the hose attached can be pulled out of the grommet from the valve cover end.

It helps to place a little silicone grease onto the manifold end of the hose and the base of the PCV valve that slides into the grommet for ease of future removal. Replace the hose clamp, replace the accelerator cable bracket, and you're ready to go. Make sure you do this with the engine cold, because there isn't a lot of room in the back of the engine. It took about 10-15 minutes to do it this way.

My bright lights come on when you turn the right turn signal on 2005 mercury mountaineer?

I'm not a mechanic / technician but my money is on the multi-function switch

inside the steering column cover ( the turn signal lever sticks out of the

cover and is used to turn on the high beam headlights )

Over the years I've had a Ford that every time I would use my signal lights, and

it was raining my windshield wipers would stop ( very scary at night when it

was raining and I was signalling a turn at a corner )

I had another Ford where the windshield washer squirter button didn't work

until it was pushed at least three times and a couple of the intermittent

wiper positions stopped working

7. The horn should sound letting you know the vehicle has entered into TPMS relearn mode

8. Place the VT10's antenna on the sidewall of the driver's side front tire 180 degrees from the valve stem.

9. Hold the right button of the VT10 triggering tool for 5-10 seconds. The vehicle's horn will sound letting you know the sensor has been learned.

10. Once the horn sounds, move on to the passenger side front tire and repeat the process. Each tire should only take 30 seconds.

11. After the passenger side front tire has been learned, continue on to the passenger side rear tire and finishing with the driver's side rear tire.

12. You may now turn the ignition to OFF. If the horn does not sound, the sensors were learned successfully. If the horn sounds twice, then the process must be repeated because there was a malfunction.

How do you remove a harmonic balancer from a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer?

You must first find a very large telephone pole or concrete building, wrap a large chain around the harmonic balancer and attach it to the building or pole, now be very careful not to start the car at this point as you might damage your vehicle. find another large vehicle preferably a large pick up with at least a class3 hitch. attach this vehicle to your vehicle with a large chain prefereably at least 20 feet long. after attaching everything and making sure all is secure, very carefully and safely accelerate the pull vehicle to 30 miles per hour, the force applied should be suffiecint to remove that stubborn harmonic balancer, if one try does not work repeat. I have never tried this technique but I have been told it works. good luck or you could go see a mechanic if in doubt!

How do you locate the driver's side keypad code on a 2005 Mercury MONTEGO?

Most vehicles come with the code on a sticker on one of the Trunk Life Rods. Some owners remove this tag, some don't. Some put it inside the glove box and some write it in the Owner's Manual. If it's not in any of these places, you're only choice is to go to a dealer and have them request the master code for you.

When do you use overdrive on a 2001 mercury mountaineer?

Overdrive is the normally allowed position

It won't shift into overdrive until the speed is higher anyway ( such as on the

highway / freeway )

If you are towing something , or are driving in hilly country where the

transmission is constantly shifting between overdrive and drive , you want to

switch the overdrive off using the switch on the end of your gear selector

lever ( P R N etcetera , the O/D OFF light will appear in your dash )
