i have never heard of a mermaid who could walk on land, however i have heard of selkies. Selkies are from scottish and Irish myths, they are like seals, but at night they come out of the water and take off their seal skins and are actually enchanted women. Though they did come onto land, they were careful never to go too far onto it- and still preferred water to it.
In some tales, it is said that after the beautiful women took off their seal skins, men who had spied them before, would steal the suit and lure to women back to their house and force them to live their lives as the man's human bride- promising only then to give them back their seal skin so they could return to the ocean. The clever men afterwords burned the seal skins so their wives could never return to the sea. However i have heard a few tales in which the selkie would eventually find their seal skin and return to the sea.
It all depends if you believe in them. I do, because i am one :). I think that you should ask yourself the same Q. If you believe me, you answered your own Q! |Giggle| I need to go to mer-school, BYE!
No. Mermaids are mythological creatures. However, there have been many reported sightings of them, and hoaxes involving their existence.
Sirenia is an order of fully aquatic, herbivorous mammals that inhabit rivers, estuaries, coastal marine waters, swamps, and marine wetlands. Animals belonging to this order include manatees and the dugong. Before mid 19th century, mariners referred to these animals as mermaids.
Obviously, it is impossible to entirely dispell the possibility of there being mermaids in the sea! But the general concensus is that there are not.
No spell will work for becoming a mermaid. It can not happen. The fact you tried should be proof to you that it doesn't work. Humans can not shape change or become a mermaid. Mermaids are not real. They are make believe and only exist in books, games, and movies.
Oxygen is needed for the Kreb's cycle to function. This releases the energy needed by the organs of the body. The brain cannot function without this energy; therefore, one will pass out before the body actually dies. Once one passes out, the lungs will expand because air will travel from high pressure to low pressure, starting the breathing.
The only way you can get a mermaid tail is to get a costume. Since you can take of the costume it is obviously temporary. There is no way of actually becoming a mermaid because you cannot change what you are and mermaids do not exist.
No. It was an example of what is called "docufiction."
We cannot show you pictures ON WikiAnswers. The best we can do is give you a link to pictures that you can click on. But mermaids are NOT real, they are a mythological creature.
1) you spelled mermaid wrong
2) i really don't think that is humanly possible!
3) mermaid's don't exist!
Well, what are humans purpose? Just to live in this world happily and in peace! They pretty much decorate the ocean with their beauty (or ugliness depending on what they look like). I believe that God made them to live freely. So yesthat obviously means I believe they exist. Don't be careless about them, because their very similar to humans in a way. Humans are here to live life with all their hearts, and act like every day is their last.
Mermaids are mythical creatures which are half fish and half human. Depending on the story they live in different parts of the ocean. Usually they claim they live in the deepest part of the ocean or lagoons.
In some cases, poison. In others, merely a harmless slime. Some toads and frogs produce hallucinogenic substances. You are not advised to lick or eat any frog or toad without determining what kind it is and whether it is poisonous.
Well my answer to this question is just believe that you can be a mermaid and if you want to turn into one i suggest trying a spell you can find if you try looking for one also if you do turn into a mermaid or merman and you want to turn back to a human most spells just tell you to not touch water and you wont become one......Have fun try
p.s. not all the time spells will work but just keep trying it over again and to believe.......It might just work
There is no such thing as mermaids. It is just a fiction for stories and movies
usully when they sing, it sort of puts people under a "trance", you would say, although age- old mythology says they're always near water/ in water, etc., however, modern-day mermaids try to avoid water at all costs to avoid showing their iconic true form, the mermaid. the types of mermaids i'm talking about here is sort of the "convertable" sea-land mermaid, which is much like a daywalker vampire. (except that when this type of mermaid comes in contact with water, s/he will begin to change from thier human form to the mermaid, which is why they try to avoid any situation that involves water at ALL COSTS)
Yes, if they really do exist. they would probably have a tail more like a Seal than the traditional fishy appendage, as People are Mammals, then Mermaids would have to be mammalian and have a seal-type tail. Possibly also a diagonal or dappled patchy area around the lower abdomen, which in the distance might look like some form of swim-suit. There is some evidence an immature creature of this type was accidentally killed in a pipeline explosion, and her body was recovered by either Fisherman, maintenance men inspecting the Pipe-line, or Coast Guardsmen. The poor Girl"s features were blackened by chemical burns from the explosion. I know what I saw.
No. Mermaids are not real so they are not affected by the full moon. People are not mermaids and can't change into one, so you aren't a mermaid. This is all make believe.
yes mermaids are true and moon pools are true but the problem is that you have to find a moon pool
There is no known way, easy or difficult, to become a mermaid. There is no scientific evidence to suggest they exist or don't exist, but that is not what is being asked.
As just a novelty, here is an incantation if you want one:
"I want a tail, no one should know. Pinch me and not make my mermaid go home. Prince, love, and all of the above, I make my commitment to all my Mermaid Prone."
But these are likely just words and will likely not do anything.
People do have a right to believe whatever they want and given answers that are consistent with their belief systems. There is no harm in just giving someone an incantation if they just want one without trying to debunk or moralize and letting them try it for themselves. Actively deciding for another what is true or not is not science.
Mermaids were born in the ancient myths of the Greeks and the Irish. These stories tell of people from the sea. The Irish tales call them Silkies and tell of one night a year when they come to shore on a full moon. They slip off their skins and become human, but if a human comes along and steals the skin they stay human until they get the skin back. There is one story about a man who fell in love with a Silkies and took her skin. She married him, had children, and after many years together she found her skin in a box under the bed. She then returned to the sea, but every so often she could be seen offshore watching the family she left.
