I've been on 155mg of methadone for 10 months now, and this is my second time in the program. If it is a single dose of 160 mg it will be out in 4 to 8 days depending on your metabolism. If it is a continued dose that is stabilized and maintained it will be slightly longer; however, people often confuse the body's recovery time with the lingering withdrawal effects of the drug. When a person subjects their body to rigorous use of any mind altering substance the brain reacts by altering levels of glandular chemicals that occur naturally in the body such as dopamine and beta-endorphins. The time it takes for the brain to regulate these secretions can be up to 18 months after said chemical has eased to be introduced to the system.

If you are on that high of a dose and have been taking it for while, Be safe and talk to your doctor. He/She can help you set up a plan to wean you off. Making your withdrawals better than if you just stopped cold turkey. You don't want to stop cold. The withdrawal symptoms in general are less intense than those of morphine or heroin at the same dose, but at the same time they are more drawn out. They can last for several weeks or more,

Morphine does not make you high. It just makes your body less vulnerable to "feeling" conditions. Which is why it is used to relax a patient dealing with pain. The absence of sensation can sometimes make a person believe there are in a "high" state.

And Methadone, because of its popularity as a recreational drug these days, is routinely included in drug screens today. And a drug screen doesn't know the reason why a pharmaceutical is being taken, whether for pain or for pleasure. So it IS likely to show up in any screen, but not to worry if it is being taken for a legitimate reason. Hydrocodone is a codiene based opiate, as is morphine (heroin is converted to morphine once it crosses the blood brain barrier). Oxycodone is a semi synthetic. The other two are naturally occurring opiates. Any of them are fine to detox, as long as you correctly taper and not hoard them all at once. Methadone and suboxone are detox drugs of choice.

Milk absorbs the Methadone causing it to be less effective. That's why if u ingested something poisonous they tell you to drink milk not to induce vomiting.

Yes, you can. If you do get pregnant while on methadone, do , PLEASE , PLEASE , not detox. At best it will be a shaky experience for you. At worst, you can end up having a miscarriage.

A person that goes to the methadone clinic told me that he took his Sunday dose on Sunday as normal. He took 100mg per day in liquid form(different blend of MD). They drug tested him on Monday and said they did NOT detect any in his system. Accused him of selling it. These people go to the clinic to get dosed everyday except Sunday. They are given a carryout on Saturday and trusted to take it properly. A lot of them will sell it and do without their medicine.

Most would say that they wouldn't considering the cost it would take for such a test. I was reading a comment b4 about a guy that was doing it over a year n always getting tested at his clinic and never had a worry. So I would say no. Besides, I wouldn't think they'd bother a healthy muscle guy considering most people I see at my clinic I go to looking all skinny and nasty! Lol

No, 5mg's is a minimal amount of methadone. Although, methadone, as a drug, is very strong and very long lasting so I do not recommend taking methadone without contacting a physician. Most people who walk onto a methadone clinic get a starting dose around 20 or 30mg's a day.

All drugs (even street drugs) break down into metabolites. Drug tests focus primarily on these particular metabolites. If present, it proves that drug was consumed because those particular metabolites do not appear naturally in the body and can only occur after the ingestion of the related drug.

When you feel comfortable, but not high. And of course the most important thing is when you do not crave any other opiate. The point of methadone maintenance is to stabilize your lifestyle so that you can function in society while getting treatment and recovering from addiction. If you are coming home, eating and passing out, you are on too high of a dose. You should not have to go higher than 120 mg's unless you have really high metabolism, but methadone actually slows your metabolism so eventually your dose will start feeling stronger and stronger before finally stabilizing.

The only fast way to sober up is a naloxone shot from the hospital. Methadone is very potent an effects of one dose can be felt for 20-35 hours.

All I know is ou cannot mix methadone and fentenyl...it eats up your methadone...as for other opiates, if you are maintained ona blocking dose they will help with pain but not get you high unless risking an overdose....called"shooting over the meth"...they cherry meth is injectable by the way....

Yes they can tell the difference in Methadone and hydrocodone Methadone has to be tested separately in a test it is not on the 5 panel test. Hydrocodone however is an opiate and will show up as an opiate. Methadone is a synthetic opiate and is in a class all of its own. Methadone tricks the brain into thinking that its still has heroin/opiates in the body it works the same in the brain. So to answer your question they would have to test separate for methadone. It is two totally different drug classes.

I personally don't think on a dipstick they can. Methadone is still an opiate. I took it for years with loracet and never saw the dr tell a difference. Sorry to tell ya.

No, you cannot. since hydromorphone is morphine with an extra oxygen molecule that allows it to pass through the blood brain barrier faster (much like heroin is actually morphine also but with an extra acetyl molecule), you will still have the same allergic reaction. try Oxycodone (percocet) or Hydrocodone (Vicodin) instead.

Yes. I've been on methadone for almost 6 years and always disolve my tablets in water or other liquid. But I get the 40 mg tablets not 100% sure about 10mg but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt the dose.

maybe a whole lot of Percocet. be careful though. Percocet has a buffer in it and taking too much can be toxic. oxycodone is the active ingredient which is also in roxycontin and oxicontin. there is no buffer in those. try suboxon or subutex. it didn't work for me but I have known it to work for others

I would assume that from your question you are already being prescribed Methadone,if you are not I'm sure you already aware of the dangers of taking any medication which you have not been prescribed.

As far as i know Methadone tablets and ampules are hardly ever prescribed any more due to the fact that the government has suggested Doctors stop prescribing it due to the fact of the problem of overdose and damage to veins.
