You need to collect certain credits and spend them in the extas store. There are 4 types of credits. Here's a list of them and how to get them.

Red credits: scan bioforms and/or macines

Blue credits: scan lore entries and save the trooper in the xenoresearch lab and the two in the port observation deck

Gold credits: beat bosses on normal and veteran or do a special task

List of special tasks for gold: juggle training drones ten times without them falling once

-escape meta ridley in morph ball tube without taking damage

-get a repliticus to kill himself by freezing him with an ice missile while the boomerang is deployed.

-defeat any red phaazoid

-defeat metroid hatcher on Norion

-keep all demolition troopers alive

Friend credits: Have a friend send you a friend voucher. Tip: try to send one of your friends a friend voucher and they may send one back.

On Temple Grounds, where you got the missile launcher, use a power bomb to open the yellow door and get to the huge room with four platforms, it's in this room.

There is a glass tunnel with broken windows near the room called "monitor station" in magmoor caverns (near the first elevator to phendrana drifts). Powerbomb the tunnel. Underneath the tunnel you will find the ice spreader.

You first need to be running in a left or right direction. Once you get some speed, jump in the direction that you are running in and keep the run button held down while you are in mid-air. As you start spinning toward the ground, quickly press the "down" button twice to morph into a ball just before you hit the ground and continue to press the directional pad button in the direction that you are going. This move is all about timing and takes some practice to pull off. If you are able to do it correctly, Samus should turn into a ball and continue speeding in the direction that you were previously running in.

you have to use the morph bomb to blast your way up as high as you can(have to time your morph bombs so you get max jump) roll over abunch of blocks that will break under you until you see the energy tank in you view. you will be in a part of the shaftwhere you can't see all of samus and if you move to far forward you fall all the way down to the begining. it;s when your in this part where you cant see all of yourself that you have to blast up again to find the energy tank.

If they are filled, they restore your health when it would normally be at zero. For example, say you had 95 health, but then it came down to zero. If you had a full reserve tank, it would restore your health to 99. Note that reserve tanks are not the red bars on the top of the screen. Consider them your "normal" health meter.
