Is it more desirable to increase or decrease light when changing to a higher magnification using a compound microscope?

It is more desirable to increase light when changing to a higher magnification using a compound microscope as the lens require more light. With proper lighting , it is easier to see specimen details as the lens aperture decreases with higher magnification.

When you move the slide on the microscope stage away from you in what direction does the object seen through the eyepiece move?

The same direction because it's only when the slide is moved left to right that it looks different... [I think]

What provides light to allow you to view materials on a glass slide of a microscope?

In a microscope, the light source provides illumination to allow you to view materials on a glass slide. This light is directed up through the slide, passing through the specimen on the slide, and into the lenses of the microscope to magnify and focus the image for viewing.

What is the relationship between the diameter of the microscope field and its magnification?

As the magnification of a microscope increases, the diameter of the field of view decreases. This is because higher magnification allows for more detailed observation of objects, but with a narrower field of view. Conversely, lower magnification provides a wider field of view but with less magnification.

What is the main difference between compound light microscopes and electron microscopes?

light microscopes direct light onto the slide and magnify it, light microscopes also have a high and low power objective lens which can magnify up to 10, 40, 43 and 100 times total magnification whilst electron microscopes shoot electrons at the slide which give more detail and accuracy but the disadvantage is it can't view objects in color. electron microscopes can magnify up to 500.000 times total magnification.
Light microscopes aren't as strong as an electron microscope in respect to zooming power. The specimen can remain alive in light microscope but for electron microscopes, preparation of the slides will kill the specimen.

What is the refractive index of a microscope?

refractive index is something that measures the speed of light as it goes through an object

is the ratio between real depth(the distance from the object to the surface of the medium) and apparent depth(the distance from the virtual image pf the object to the surface of the medium)

How do you get a stain out of a wool rug if all your attempts have left the stain worse and now it is orange?

I'm from Canada so I don't know if you can get this product where you are. I go to Home Depot (big hardware store) and buy ZEP spot spray shampoo. It works wonders. You spray, leave on for 5 or 10 minutes and keep doing it until the spot goes away. If you can't get this product I suggest you call a rug cleaner and explain your situation. They will come out to clean a spot (check your house to be sure there are no other soils on your carpet.) Marcy

Revolving power microscope?

A revolving power microscope typically refers to a microscope with multiple objective lenses that can be rotated into place for different levels of magnification. This allows users to easily switch between magnification levels without having to physically change lenses. It is a useful feature for microscopy applications that require varying levels of magnification.

What is microscope?

A microscope is a scientific instrument that is used to magnify and observe objects that are too small to be seen by the naked eye. It allows researchers to study the details and structures of tiny living organisms, cells, tissues, and other small objects in great detail. Microscopes are essential tools in fields such as biology, chemistry, and materials science.

When was the electron microscope invented?

1928 i believe by the Germans... someone check me on that... it wasnt the electron microscope we know today but it was the same concept only it magnified by a small 17 times... it has be improved since then

What is an electron microscope and how is it used?

An electron microscope is a powerful tool that uses a beam of electrons to image the ultra-fine details of a specimen at a much higher resolution than light microscopes. It is used in various scientific fields, such as biology, materials science, and nanotechnology, to study structures at the atomic and molecular levels.

Why is there a haphazard motion of smoke particles seen in a smoke cell which is viewed through a microscope?

It's called Brownian motion. It's caused by atoms and molecule zipping about (because of the energy they have as a result of being warm) colliding with the smoke particles and bumping them around. It would happen less if the smoke was very cold because the atoms and molecules would move less. Conversely, if you increased the temperature of the smoke the motion would be greater

A microscope with only one lens is call what?

A simple microscope

an electron microscope is one that uses the focus of electron beams instead of regular light from lenses. It allowed scientists to discover new germ cells, bacteria, and eventually viruses.

the simple microscope was invented in 1600s

How recreational activities contribute to the total development of an individual?

How your birth order influences your life adjustment?

Birth order can influence life adjustment in various ways. First-borns may be more responsible and achievement-oriented, while later-borns can be more rebellious and flexible. Middle children may seek attention or act as peacemakers. However, birth order is just one factor among many that shape individual personality and life outcomes.

What is the average installation price of a concrete block retaining wall per square foot?

We just got three estimates for a concrete block retaining wall using 8 x 8 x 18 blocks. One was $24 per square one was $27 per square foot and the last one was $51 per square foot not including the labor to dig the footing. Tomorrow we will go and check some of the walls they have built to make our decision. I am hoping at least for the $27. So get at least three estimates and go from there. Oh we live in Hawaii too so it might be a little more expensive here. Good luck. Aloha.

Would a light microscope be useful when finding a new archaea?

A light microscope would be limited in its ability to see archaea due to their small size compared to bacteria. To effectively study archaea, electron microscopes or molecular techniques like PCR would be more useful.

Is a multiple choice type of test valid to determine learning of manipulative skills?

No, a multiple choice test may not effectively assess manipulative skills as it typically requires written or verbal responses rather than practical demonstrations. Hands-on assessments or performance-based evaluations are typically more valid for assessing manipulative skills.

What is scanning footprinting and enumeration in Information Assurance?

Scanning in information assurance involves using tools to search and analyze a network for vulnerabilities and weak points. Footprinting is the first step in scanning, where attackers gather information about the target system to understand its structure and potential entry points. Enumeration is the process of extracting more detailed information about the target system, such as usernames and network resources, to plan a potential attack.

What is the Iris for the optical microscope?

The diaphragm, a device that controls the light intake, similar to the aperture control, of the F-stops on a camera.. Iris is very rarely used with Cameras nowadays, the preferred term is diaphragm, aperture, or F-stop such as F-22 ( Bottom), F=-2.8, etc,It may still be used on Microscopes. do not confuse with nosepiece turrets.

What function is performed by the diaphragm of a microscope?

The diaphragm of a microscope is used to control the amount of light passing through the specimen. By adjusting the diaphragm, you can regulate the brightness and contrast of the image, helping to improve visibility and clarity.

What is the difference of a light microscope and a scanning electron microscope?

A light microscope uses visible light to magnify and view specimens, offering lower magnification and resolution compared to a scanning electron microscope (SEM) which uses a focused beam of electrons to image the sample, providing higher magnification and resolution. SEM can produce 3D images of the sample surface while light microscopes typically provide 2D images.

What is the function of an optical microscope?

It is a type of microscope which uses visible light and a system of lenses to magnify images of small samples. In other words, its function is to make small objects appear much larger so we can study them in detail.

What is the function of a digital microscope?

A digital microscope is used for you to see very very little things and also germs or other things that you aren't abel to see . And you can also learn alot by using any type of microscope but you can learn because you can experiment with the germs ,bacterias , etc.
